Story
Nobody has a “normal” family, but Vesper Wright’s is truly...something else. Vesper left home at eighteen and never looked back—mostly because she was told that leaving the staunchly religious community she grew up in meant she couldn’t return. But then an envelope arrives on her doorstep.

I had to keep speaking parts out loud to remind myself this book would be better without the sardonic overtone the narrator seeps into story. if it wasnt dripping with constant annoyance and contempt no matter what is being talked about, id enjoy it.

the narrator is one of my favorites. she really transforms the story while also makimg me feel like I'm embraced in a warm hug. it felt too real to be fully fiction and i wish i could just hug all those sweet babies of rosie.

Story
It’s been three years since the Virgil County High School Massacre. Three years since my best friend, Sarah, was killed in a bathroom stall during the mass shooting. Everyone knows Sarah’s story - that she died proclaiming her faith. But it’s not true. I know because I was with her when she died. I didn’t say anything then, and people got hurt because of it. Now Sarah’s parents are publishing a book about her, so this might be my last chance to set the record straight. Except Sarah’s martyrdom is important to a lot of people, people who don’t take kindly to what I’m trying to do.

this book read wonderfully and the narrator was incredible. she had so many different tones ans voices that you'd feel completely drawn into the story. i do wish it wasn't so filled with religion in it, or at least there could've been mention of it somewhere in the book details, but it was still captivating and scary. thank you!

i bought this book a year or two ago and never grabbed it immediately. not that i didn't love the writer, he's been a favorite youtuber of mine since i first saw him on sbsk. but there was always some unknown hesitancy when it came to which book i wanted to read next. today i decided to finally download and read it and gosh , i forgot just how funny shane is. the narrator did an amazing job capturing his stories and every moment was hilarious and endearing. I've got to grab the next book immediately now as well.
to anyone that is reading this and contemplating downloading it: do it. it'll be so worth it, so engaging, and you'll surprise yourself with how much you'll enjoy this.

For thousands of years, there has been a cycle: a Demon King rises and conquers, and a Hero is reborn a hundred years later to defeat him. Each time, civilizations are ground to dust beneath the Demon King's hordes, but humanity has remained secure in the belief that a Hero of legend will always save them. There's just one slight problem. It's only been 23 years since the Demon King's latest rise, and this time, he's already conquered more than half the world. If humanity simply waits for the Hero's return, there may be no world left for him to save.

Story
Nineteen-year-old Greg Sestero met Tommy Wiseau at an acting school in San Francisco. Wiseau's scenes were rivetingly wrong, yet Sestero, hypnotized by such uninhibited acting, thought, "I have to do a scene with this guy." That impulse changed both of their lives. The Disaster Artist is Greg Sestero's laugh-out-loud funny account of how Tommy Wiseau defied every law of artistry, business, and friendship to make "the Citizen Kane of bad movies" ( Entertainment Weekly), which is now an international phenomenon.

that said, her books are absolutely amazing, making her narration such an enjoyable experience. I've listened and read all of her books and hope for more. this was so well written, the jokes were at a wonderful pace and timing, and she is so informative while still captivating and charming. i will happily relisten to this.

I wish I would've grabbed a version that didnt have the author reading this. she seemed so disinterested and bored, as if a student that was called up to read from a lesson book. she made t very hard to enjoy what could be a magical story. I might grab another version if there is one, to try and relisten with more optimism on the story being more enjoyable.
