the characters are well written. They all aeem like people I know IRL. Not gonna go into specifics but If you ever suffered the loss of a loved one...they is a character we say goodbye to and it was heartbreaking. This is the first series I can say I listened to non stop until i got to this one the latest to date and I tried putting it off because I did not want it to end....because not wanting this series to end has become kinda my thing.

Story
It is an age of exploration. Jedi travel the galaxy, expanding their understanding of the Force and all the worlds and beings connected by it. Meanwhile, the Republic, led by its two chancellors, works to unite worlds in an ever-growing community among near and distant stars. On the close-orbiting planets of Eiram and E’ronoh, the growing pains of a galaxy with limited resources but unlimited ambition are felt keenly. The two worlds’ hatred for each other has fueled half a decade of escalating conflict and now threatens to consume surrounding systems.

Phantom Menace prequel era vibe.
Reviewed: 01-26-23
I really enjoyed it. If your a fan of story and lore and are looking for new star wars stories that remind you of legends material than look no futher. The high republic prequel era introduces a new phantom menace manipulating the galaxy bit by bit in an attempt to eventually destroy the jedi. Although you may think this is familiar ground, there's enough new here you'll enjoy this story. The narration is excellent because it's narrated by star wars audio book veteran Mark Thompson which immerses you in the galaxy far far away.

a really great story between kotor 2 and swtor.
Reviewed: 08-25-22
I enjoyed it it. The story takes place after kotor one and let's us know what revan was up to during kotor 2 and after kotor 2 yet before swtor. If you are familiar with the game Canon you'll enjoy this. If you are stuck in your own video game head Canon you might not enjoy this.

Why are star qara audiobooks better than un years prior. Narration + good story + the sound effects and music of star wars. unfortunately the later was missing in this one and unfortunately it did diminish my enjoyment of it.

Amazing
Reviewed: 04-25-19
In master and Apprentice Claudia grey does a fantastic job showing us the relationship between qui gon and obi wan as well a few flashbacks of his relationship with dooku, while immersing you in this world. Both obi wan and qui gon are extremely relatable with most readers/listeners seeing themselves as obi wan when it comes to his skepticism towards ancient jedi lore and prophecies. There is great connections to OT and sequel trilogy in the prophecies that's a must for any star wars fan. The ending especially landed and will not only make your rethink what you know about the force but will make your next viewing or the prequels more enjoyable as you'll have a better understanding of the relationships between some jedi whom also appear in this book as well as their views on the main protagonist of the prequels.
Johnathan Davis's qui gon is amazing. To the point that it's hard to believe it's not liam, but I'd have to concur that mace windu isn't his strong suit (don't recall sam jack having a bit of southern drawl) and yoda was okay. It does not ruin the audiobook so it wasn't a problem. I was ab;e to get lost in it and even picture the action in my head while listening, which is pretty great. Overall one of my favorites, just under Lost Stars which is my top claudia gray star wars novel. Hope to get more of these.
