Story
Nobody needs telling there isn’t enough time. We’re obsessed with our lengthening to-do lists, our overfilled inboxes, work-life balance, and the ceaseless battle against distraction; and we’re deluged with advice on becoming more productive and efficient, and “life hacks” to optimize our days. But such techniques often end up making things worse. The sense of anxious hurry grows more intense, and still the most meaningful parts of life seem to lie just beyond the horizon.

A book everyone needs to read. You'll be inspired to grow a garden and raise a chicken or two. You'll be IRATE at the idiocy and scumbaggery gumming up and poisoning our food in the supposed Land of the Free.
you'll be inspired to search out and support those like Joel who just want to pursue their passion and make real food normal.

Story
Deeply in debt and worried that his children will be forced to struggle all their lives to make ends meet, Joe Tower hears stories of free land in Oregon and a better way of life. The tale of the "promised land" does not move his wife Emma to support their leaving all they have behind until a catastrophe gives them no other choice. Intimate and glorious in its description of everyday events, thoughts and hopes, this story is an excellent representation of what like was really like back in frontier days.
