Story
Welcome to Connelly Court. A secluded, old money neighborhood, harboring a web of desires and deceit behind pristine facades and manicured lawns, where the lives of a group of neighbors, bound by their shared secrets and unconventional lifestyle, are about to unravel. Michael and Amelia Ross move into their dream home, and get drawn into the seductive allure. But their house once belonged to a family whose lives were seemingly ruined by their participation, which leads Amelia to question everything about her new-found friends.

I listed to the Audible version of this book and it was FANTASTIC It's been a long time since I wanted to call in sick to work to finish a book
YES there are a lot of characters - I actually have one of those pin and thread charts in my head to keep it all straight. It took a few chapters to get into the cadence of who was who and who is with who. Once I caught on, there was no problem working it out.
YES there are a few sex scenes - There are also fade to black and closed door scenes also
YES this book is a wild ride that I'm OBSESSED with! HOLY SMOKES what small decisions could change the course of one's life.
YES I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS STORY!!!!
I listened on Audible at 1.25 speed and it was perfect. The narrator is going to my "auto one click" narrators.

Story
In the 1990s, Carter Wills was the lead singer of the English alt-rock band Mayluna, securing his place among music legends. His tortured-heart lyrics struck a chord. And so did his secret connection to a woman whose love changed all their lives. Who was she? Evie Waters’s two grown children discover an iconic photo in an old magazine of a “mystery girl” with Carter: their mother. It all started in a wistful time and place for Evie, her twenty-fifth summer.

The story flows really well from beginning to end. it is my suggestion that the series be read / listened to in order. There a lot of refences to previous characters and while it doesn't take away from the story, I think it would be a richer experience in order.
I am a huge fan of Chelle Bliss and her series.

Story
If I had to pick a bride of convenience, my first choice would not be Peach Maloney. My 50th choice would not be Peach. Top spot on my list of occupational hazards? Yes. Royal pain in the crumpets? Yes. A bride of convenience? No. But I've unexpectedly gone from royal bodyguard to monarch, having inherited a crown that was stolen from my family long before my birth. The kicker? In order to take the throne, I must find a wife. Have I mentioned Peach would not have been my 100th choice? But I've no other options, and she needs a favor that my new position can fulfill quite nicely.

I have had a wicked crush on him since seeing him and Queen Latifah in a movie. While I am typically not the demographic this would play to, I enjoyed every moment of it.
A tip - if you listen at anything above 1X (I typically listen at 1.5 - 1.7x) bring it back to 1 - TRUST ME, it is a great listen!

a little but torn
Reviewed: 05-23-23
The story: This book is said to NOT be a retelling but a reimagining, I didn't find it very reimagined but more like twisting the the threads and telling the story based on where the dart landed for the character.
There were a few twists that I did not see coming and the base story held my interest .
The narration: Being from Massachusetts, I have to say that the "Boston accents" were horrible... or brilliant if that's really what we sound like. Whenever the accent was used, I found myself repeating words to see if that's how I said them.
Overall this was a decent listening experience.
