Annie Hancock is finally following her dreams, studying for her graduate degree to become a professional artist. But when someone starts to leave threatening notes around her studio and dorm, Annie can’t help but wonder…who’s after her and why? She doesn’t know who to trust or keep herself safe.

Arrow has been grinding for years as a bounty hunter and private investigator. After setting down roots and opening his own office, his business doesn’t take off the way he’d hoped. Just when he’s about to change course, a beautiful woman is in desperate need of his services.

But what starts out as a simple assignment becomes more complicated when they’re forced into hiding. And as the threat gets closer, and the attraction becomes hotter, they’ll need to decide if what they have is real or driven by danger.

Excellent Story, Characters & Narration🎧

Chelle Bliss does it again and pens another winning novel set in her “Open Road” series, a romantic suspense that grabs your attention right from the start and holds it hostage for the entire book. I am a huge fan of Chelle Bliss’ writing, her stories and most of all the stars of those stories, her characters, each one just as amazing as the other, in their own way. The world building is fantastic too. This fourth book is Arrow’s and Annie’s story. Arrow, aka Josh, a former bounty hunter, opened his own Investigation and Security business, which is not doing that well. He rents space in a strip mall owned by the Disciples MC, who has legalized most of their businesses. Annie Hancock is following her dreams of becoming an artist and entered a graduate program at the university. Someone was leaving strange notes left for her at her dorm and when the messages get more alarming, she was frightened enough to search for a private investigator who could provide security. After visiting several P.I. she found one who sounded like he cared and knew what he was doing, one she could trust, Josh. Josh takes on her case, looking at every angle to find out who is behind the notes and why. There was an instant connection between Josh and Annie, and what starts off as a fake relationship turns into something so much more than real. I loved how everything played out in this book, also loved how the Disciples step up to help one of their own, despite Arrow not being a sworn in member. This wonderfully plotted story has it all, drama, a touch of angst, some mystery, thrilling suspense, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. Chelle Bliss, thank you for entertaining me with another amazing story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fantastic narration, Chelle Bliss chose the perfect cast to bring her characters and stay to life. Lance Greenfield and Kristen Leigh did an amazing job portraying these characters, giving each a voice that was fitting, sounding believable and just as I pictured them to sound. Greenfield’s Arrow was spot on, grasping every aspect of his personality, and Leigh did the same for Annie. Both were just as amazing performing the roles of the secondary characters, too. They sent the perfect tone for the story, captured all the characters’ emotions and had you feeling them all. These versatile voice artists are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.

Arrow and Annie…. Great book!!

I’m loving these book.. every single one of them. Arrow is a PI and when Annie’s life becomes perilous, she seeks out a PI to help her figure out what’s happening. Enter Arrow. This is the start of their story.

Chelle Bliss is a writer I love to read because her stories have a lot of different nuances and there is passion and a bit of mystery. Annie and Arrows story is another good book with a story you’ll want to find out about. I recommend it highly!!

Arrow and Annie!

I thoroughly enjoyed Arrow and Annie’s story, book four of the Open Road Series by Chelle Bliss. From the moment I pressed play I had to know where this story was going to take me!

Annie finds herself in trouble and getting deeper into an ever worsening situation, which is a mystery to her. Annie hires an investigator to help. Along comes Arrow. Once he learns of Annie’s troubles he is all in to get to the bottom of a bad situation.

I am here for the network of friends. Because of this I would recommend reading in order to experience this series at its best!

Kirsten Leigh and Lance Greenfield’s performances complimented each other brilliantly. They had me captivated from the beginning.

Thank you Chelle for another fabulous story. Highly recommend Broken Arrow.

Great addition to this seris!

I have been a fan of this series since it started and this book was no exception. I will however admit that when Annie was introduced and at the start of the story I had mixed feelings.

So Annie, a graduate student who is receiving strange messages is fearing for her safety. She seeks out personal protection and ends up meeting Arrow. While he is protecting her, the threat increases and the pair are forced into going on the run and staying with the MC from the previous books in the series.

Arrow, a private investigator who is struggling with his business takes the job with Annie because he can sense her fear. He experiences instant attraction to her and fights it as best as possible until her can't fight it anymore.

So this was a fast paced book that while told from dual POV felt like coming home especially with the return of the characters from the previous books in the series. The attraction between the Annie and Arrow was palpable at times between the characters while being off the charts. I also enjoyed the guessing as to who was the one that was threatening Annie right up until the twist at the end of their story.

The narrators of this book did a great job performing this book. Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh did a great job bringing this story to life and making it an enjoyable listening experience.

Overall, this was a good read and a great series that I would recommend to others.

Broken Arrow Open Road Series 4 by Chelle Bliss

BROKEN ARROW Open Road Series Book 4 by Chelle Bliss
I knew I was going to love Arrow's story, and I sure did! It was in the Bliss style we are used to and always love! She also brings us Tiny and several members of the MC. Arrow is a PI that is needing some work. Annie is being tormented by someone, and hires Arrow to figure it out. The heat between the two of them is palpable. This is 5 stars.
I listened to the audio version and it was narrated by Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh. They did an excellent job.

read series in order

listed at 1.7x
The story flows really well from beginning to end. it is my suggestion that the series be read / listened to in order. There a lot of refences to previous characters and while it doesn't take away from the story, I think it would be a richer experience in order.

I am a huge fan of Chelle Bliss and her series.

Loved the narration!

Broken Arrow by Chelle Bliss was such a quick listen. Seriously, I flew threw this story and didn't even realize it was over, until it was over. Annie is the main character. She starts off and you might see that she's a bit timid. She's very scared and nervous. I get it, she's receiving these vague, scary notes. She doesn't know where they're coming from. She just knows that someone is coming into her private area. They are violating her home, albeit a temporary home, while she's in college. She seeks out a private investigator... in walks Arrow. Arrow has an office in that same complex where the biker gang have a garage and there's a dog babysitting as well. Annie immediately feels at ease and safe with Arrow. He immediately fights an attraction with him. He also feels very protective of her.

It's weird, I didn't feel like Arrow was as alpha-maleish as I'm used to with Chelle Bliss's books. I liked him, I liked Annie. I wanted more... UMPH from him. I really loved Annie though. She is a strong female lead and really show it after the opening scenes. The narrators, Lance Greenfield and Kirsten Leigh did a great job bringing the characters to life. Greenfield was great at bringing Arrow to life and really developing his personality. Leigh was awesome! I felt like her voice really brought a bit more to Annie's character. I saw her as more than a timid college student struggling to make it on her own. Leigh seriously made this character brilliant!

Josh & Annie

I love a good suspense romance and Chelle Bliss can deliver. Annie and Arrow come together on some bad circumstances but they soon can’t fight the attraction. I love how Chelle writes a story with a little angst, suspense weaved through a romantic story with spice and love.

I loved how the development of these characters was a slow burn while building Arrow and Annie’s connection. We got to see some favorite characters and I absolutely loved Tiny as a grandpa.

Kirsten Leigh and Lance Greenfield brought the passion, tension and spice to Chelle’s words and delighted my ears.

intense

Another outstanding book. The storyline catches you from the beginning and leaves you thinking and wondering through. the side characters are always a bonus. it was nice to see more of Arrow and Annie was very much the strong female that chelle is known to write. I enjoyed this book very much and recommend Men of Inked and this series very much. audible narration was good.

Story is good but male narration is meh…

So I’ve loved all the stories in the series and have enjoyed the narration of all of them except this one. To me it seems that male narrator places emphasis in weird awkward places, also the enunciation is over the top. There are also moments when the timbre of the MMC’s voice is too high pitched. It’s like everything he says he’s doing it with great enthusiasm and excitement which makes the feel of the story not match what’s being said. Also I thought Leo and Leah’s son’s name was Ryder not River?
