Story
To all appearances, Dan Chase is a harmless retiree in Vermont with two big mutts and a grown daughter he keeps in touch with by phone. But most 60-year-old widowers don't have multiple driver's licenses, savings stockpiled in banks across the country, and a bugout kit with two Beretta Nanos stashed in the spare bedroom closet. Most have not spent decades on the run.

Horrible narration made it painful to finish
Reviewed: 11-03-23
The story began very interesting, but it became more and more unbelievable as the plot developed. The narration was one of the worst in which I’ve ever listened. There was no change in voice tone or inflection from character to character, whether man or woman, except when describing the government agents. In his description of the government agents it was so exaggerating slimy that you pictured each government agent looking like a snake. It was very distracting. Listening to the second half of the book was painful but I kept hoping for a change to the better that would make it worthwhile for the investment in time I made listening to the first half of the book. It was a very disappointing listen.

Disappointing narration, and writing
Reviewed: 10-25-23
First of all the idea of having many different narrators to me was a fail. It was distracting. One outstanding narrator would have been more enjoyable. Secondly, the plot was very predictable. The theme was great, but whoever did the writing needed help because it was so predictable and boring. I only gave this a three star because President Clinton was a part of it and I admire him so much. Example of the failed writing is when the mission failed in the beginning of the book. It was obvious that the Chinese had some part in it. Evidence was given that they had a connection to the terrorist and then all of a sudden the terrorist had a warning? Duh! Oh, they disclose it at the end, as if it’s supposed to be some big surprise. There were so many events in the writing that were predictable. I guess I’m not a fan of Patterson novels because this is the second novel I’ve tried and been disappointment. Different strokes for different folks. I’ve been a long time fan of Mitch Rapp and novels of the “Gray Man, but the writing here cannot compare.

Historically important. Storytelling mixed reviews.
Reviewed: 10-18-23
I agree with other reviewers that the historical significance was extremely important. It’s heartbreaking to see how cruelly Native Americans were treated by whites. The first two narrator’s were very good. The last narrator was so boring, that I had to fast forward frequently to see if there was anything worthwhile listening to the last two hours. The story telling could use a lot of improvement. However, the historical facts were extremely worth noting. Although honest history will hurt some people in the present perhaps it will help humankind in the future.

Story
Mitch Rapp hates owing anyone a favor—especially when it’s the world’s most powerful crime lord. But when Damian Losa calls, Mitch is honor bound to answer. The Syrian government has created a highly addictive new narcotic that it plans to distribute throughout Europe. It’s a major threat to Losa’s business and he’s determined to stop it by any means necessary. Rapp is the perfect choice for the mission. Not only does he have extensive experience operating in the Middle East, but he’s also entirely expendable.

Very Disappointing
Reviewed: 09-22-23
George Guidall’s voice not being the voice of Mitch Rapp was a major disappointment. Steven Weber did a good job with the voices of Russian or Mexican cartel characters, but there was virtually no distinguishing characteristics of male versus female, or the Mitch Rapp team of experts. The theme was outstanding. It was enlightening to see how Russia uses pharmaceutical chemical warfare because of the declining strength of their military might. The plot was predictable. It almost felt like there was some graduate student writing his first novel majoring in English literature. I won’t be following this series anymore. “Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.” It was an outstanding series, and I’ve read every previous book in the Mitch Rapp series three times. But this was my last. It’s just not the same. Enjoy the last payday from me. I can’t wait for the next book to come out in the Gray Man series.

Love Mr. Moseley’s novels
Reviewed: 10-08-22
I live in Los Angeles. My mother, my uncles and my childhood are part of these stories during these periods post World War II. I have listened to all of his books at least twice. If I had one complaint it would be the names of his characters. I blame my poor memory on the fact that he has so many character names. But I wish he would not at some parts of the novel refer to them by their first name and then in other parts of the novel refer to them by their last name. It’s confusing for me. It may not be confusing for someone younger with a better memory to recall names.

This is my favorite western author. I enjoyed reading over 100 Louis Lamour western novels during my 20's. Now I am in my late 60's and both love the western stories and exciting narration by David R. Lewis. I anxiously wait for each new book. I feel the characters are authentic. They are tough as nails when need be yet compassionate when it comes to rescuing the weak or needy. They hold the spirit of the ancient knights of the round table although they were born in the latter part of the 1800's. Begin listening to this series from the first book and you will eagerly listen to each subsequent book. I laughed at the cowboy jokes and reveled at the way they(U.S. Marshalls)dealt justice in the savage years following the civil war.

I can't wait for the release of each new book. He has surpassed the "Mitch Rapp" series with the "Gray Man" character. I think his books are further enhanced by the development of other characters such as Hightower and the female character. I don't seem to find time to write reviews but if you are new to the "Gray Man", listen to this book. After this listen, you will download every one in the series from start to present and will enjoy a wonderful rich listening experience.

True to form, the tough WWII veteran survives, and soon his murderous sidekick Mouse has him back cruising the mean streets of L.A., in all their psychedelic 1967 glory, to look for a young black man, Evander "Little Green" Noon, who disappeared during an acid trip. Fueled by an elixir called Gator’s Blood, brewed by the conjure woman Mama Jo, Easy experiences a physical, spiritual, and emotional resurrection, but peace and love soon give way to murder and mayhem.

All the books in the Easy Rawlins series have romance, sex, violent action, intrigue, philosophy and morality. Read the first two books in the series and I imagine you will not be able to stop until you have read all 14. I have listened to all 14 books 3 times and I am trying to move on to other books by other authors but I find that each time I listen to one of the books in the "Easy Rawlins" series I enjoy it more than the previous listens. Michael Boatman is a superb narrator!

I’ve lived in LA since 1977 and this is now the year 2022. My childhood was on the southside of Chicago before going off to college for 4 1/2 years as an Black officer in the Marine Corps. We represent at one and a 1.5 % of the officers in the United States Marine Corps. After my honorable discharge as a Vietnam War era veteran in December 1977 I didn’t go back to Chicago but made LA my home. I feel a part of my soul can relate to this man’s novels. I’ll probably read them all again a third time. He is now my favorite author of all time.
