Story
Texas is booming. But this increase in population has also brought about a shift in the political dialogue within Texas's borders. As more people pour into Texas, they bring with them liberal and socialist ideologies as they try to swing the state from red to blue. In Hold Texas, Hold the Nation West makes his stand, asserting that Texas must hold fast to its conservative ways and resist succumbing to liberal mindsets, or else cease to prosper, and begin to perish.

What a great book! This audiobook was so good that I bought a copy for my parents and nephew to read. As a Native Texan, I appreciate the history lesson Mr. Allen West presents and the comparison between California and Texas' roots in the Republic. Mr. West explains the political details in laymen's terms and includes his own sense of humor.
This has made me love my state even more. Even if you're not from Texas or the South, you will appreciate the home-grown common sense and honesty of this book.

Story
Witness the epic final chapter of the Skywalker saga with the official novelization of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, including expanded scenes and additional content not seen in theaters! The Resistance has been reborn. But although Rey and her fellow heroes are back in the fight, the war against the First Order, now led by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, is far from over. Just as the spark of rebellion is rekindling, a mysterious signal broadcasts throughout the galaxy, with a chilling message: Emperor Palpatine, long thought defeated and destroyed, is back from the dead.

Almost better than the movie

The novelization gives much more background, setting, and characters' thoughts than what can be described or shown in the movies. Rae Carson did a good job at filling in what the movie could not. The book goes into greater detail regarding the PC-same-gender relationship of the two Resistance fighters (it's just a few paragraphs but still something I do not prefer) so if you're letting a young child listen to the book, just be conscientious.
It takes a few chapters to get used to Marc Thompson imitating the actors' voices, but the talent to imitate their voices that closely is very well done. The background sound effects are a nice touch; not too "busy" and distracting from the storyteller's voice.
I especially loved the descriptions and Ben's thoughts and actions after Rey destroyed the Emperor. It made that scene last longer giving it more thought and appreciation. It seemed so rushed in the movie.
Overall, I liked ROSW, but enjoyed this novelization a little bit more.
