Story
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

Story
Over the last decade, a single innovation has massively fueled digital black markets: cryptocurrency. Crime lords inhabiting lawless corners of the internet have operated more freely—whether in drug dealing, money laundering, or human trafficking—than their analog counterparts could have ever dreamed of. By transacting not in dollars or pounds but in currencies with anonymous ledgers, overseen by no government, beholden to no bankers, these black marketeers have sought to rob law enforcement of their chief method of cracking down on illicit finance: following the money.

Wow what can I say - this one exceeded my expectations! Not one full moment. Literally. Keeps you hooked from the start, all the way through. Expertly written, expertly read (if you get the Audio), and filled with intensity. Pretty dark at times, especially at the end, but we’ll worth it! I honestly didn’t want this one to end. It’s also written in a way that you don’t have to be technically savvy at all to understand it and follow along. 5/5 all day, and I couldn’t recommend it enough! If you’re on the fence, you’ll be doing yourself a favor by getting it. Get it today! Thanks to the author for an awesome book, and thanks to the narrator - he did a phenomenal job!
