Boring, Predictable, Gore for no reason.

I kept thinking ok, now we have developed all characters and a story line we are going to get into some unique twist or turns, some creative legal ease to win against the defendant, Nope and Nope as predictable and straightforward as a Lifetime Movie. Then the very descriptive and graphic gore which did not really suit the easiness and simple depth of the rest of the writing was not really needed.

Story
When Abby signs up for a DNA service, it’s mainly to give her friend and secret love interest, Leo, a nudge. After all, she knows who she is already: Avid photographer. Injury-prone tree climber. Best friend to Leo and Connie...although ever since the B.E.I. (Big Embarrassing Incident) with Leo, things have been awkward on that front.

Warning, Young Adult book. Didn’t get that from title details.

The book if I was 13, was a good story. Not great. Very very very wordy. Very very very predictable. As an adult, not really at all interesting. I finished because I was on a long car trip and needed something I didn’t need to pay such close attention.

Story
Bono met his wife in high school, Park says. So did Jerry Lee Lewis, Eleanor answers. I’m not kidding, he says. You should be, she says, we’re 16. What about Romeo and Juliet? Shallow, confused, then dead. I love you, Park says. Wherefore art thou, Eleanor answers. I’m not kidding, he says. You should be. Set over the course of one school year in 1986, this is the story of two star-crossed misfits - smart enough to know that first love almost never lasts, but brave and desperate enough to try. When Eleanor meets Park, you’ll remember your own first love.

A nice simple story to entertain you

Eleanor and Park is a love story between two awkward teenagers. I like to have some audio books in my library that are not too serious, too deep, too emotional or too hard to follow so that when I am stressed out, or in bad traffic or just need something to take my mind off things I can listen to those books. This was a perfect one for that. Enough story line to keep you engaged. Enough character development to peak your interest. The biggest negative to me is it truly needs a sequel. I was not done with the characters nor the story line when it ended.
