Story
Every person has that one thing they’re known for, and it doesn’t matter what you do, that one thing—whether good or bad—follows you around like a bloodhound for the rest of your life. Tragically for me, it’s a story I wrote when I was 15, based on a real person, Reece Cavanaugh. And guess what? He grew up to be a pirate—okay, lawyer. Same thing. To make matters worse, the man is representing my ex-fiancé. But the more I get to know Reece—the real version, not the imaginary one who ravishes me—I can’t help but wish we could roll around in the sand together.

Cute story.

I enjoyed the storyline and idea. Where it fell flat for me is in the constant mention of the "Pirate girl" and the Rogue Pirate story. It was near obsession of the MC which made me dislike her a bit. A bit over the top sappy. Yes, it's a romance - but a little too sugary sweet and the love interest was overly doting and tossed out compliments to where the sexual tension became something to only hope for.

Story
An arranged marriage isn’t the worst fate for a princess like me. Especially because I’ve been in love with my intended groom since we were children. But when my prince shows up with an American girlfriend instead of an engagement ring, all arrangements are off. The clock is nearing midnight; I won’t turn into a pumpkin, but if I’m not wed by summer’s end, I’ll forfeit my kingdom. Just your typical royal dilemma. Out of sheer desperation, I make a deal with a devilish duke. Rafe de Silva is the prince’s rival and has a plan so ridiculous it just might work.

Light-hearted and charming

First Emma st Clair read, rather listen, for me. Easy going love story with some lightly steamy scenes. Enjoyed the transformation of the MCs love interest and well done with getting me to root for him and not "the other guy". The beginning took a bit to get into with the 'present day' start and then into a few letter scenes.
I was a bit worried the entire book was letters. but it is not. The letters were actually important for the set-up. Overall I enjoyed it and was excited to press play each time I had the opportunity to listen.
