Story
If it weren’t for Emma Johnson, Caryn Johnson would have never become Whoopi Goldberg. Emma gave her children the loving care and wisdom they needed to succeed in life, always encouraging them to be true to themselves. When Whoopi lost her mother in 2010—and then her older brother, Clyde, five years later—she felt deeply alone; the only people who truly knew her were gone. Emma raised her children not just to survive, but to thrive. In this intimate and heartfelt memoir, Whoopi shares many of the deeply personal stories of their lives together for the first time.

Fantastic!

I thoroughly loved listening to this book! Whoopi was fantastic as always, it just really reminded me of how much I love this woman and having admired her life. It helped me to understand my own grieving process with my mother-in-law who was more of a mom to me! I learned so much about parenting from her. I laughed. I cried. It was just an overall fantastic book. I may purchase the actual book just to have a copy, but the audible was just very nicely done. I highly recommend this book to anyone that is a Whoopie fan!
Thank you for letting us into your world with Clyde and your mom!

Healing

This was an amazing book! I had never heard of attachment styles until I was doing a plant-based course and they touched on it and so it led me down the rabbit hole which led me to this book. I’m glad I listen to this. it’s a great listen it’s very insightful, and it was, so very healing for me! I would highly recommend this book to anyone. It gives you a much better picture of your make up and why also, I love the lessons on how to deal with others and their attachment styles. Not very long I was able to get through it in a day and actually listen to it three more times lol!

Story
In this classic best seller, Florence Scovel Shinn helped to define the personal success genre. Written in the new thought tradition, her message is simple yet transformative - we receive back what we put into the world through our actions, energy, and attitudes. Negativity and pessimism are returned in kind, but by switching the script in favor of positive attitudes and affirmations, we are able to manifest success and joy in everything we do. Life, Shinn tells us, is not a battle of us against the world, but rather a game of giving and receiving.

MIND BLOWING WEALTH OF INFORMATION
Reviewed: 02-27-24
I listened to this book and listened again and again because I wanted this to stick in my subconscious mind. I now know why certain things played out the way that they did in my life. It also was confirmation for me to trust what I am hearing and being led to do and not allow others to speak over me especially if it does not align with the words I was already given.
This book opened my eyes and my mind, it was exactly what I needed to move into my next transition better than I ever have before in my entire life!!! After reading this I can say I feel light as a feather!
Struggling and not sure why? Get this book, study it, repeat what she says, and live it! DAILY!!

Stanley Tucci grew up in an Italian American family that spent every night around the kitchen table. He shared the magic of those meals with us in The Tucci Cookbook and The Tucci Table, and now he takes us beyond the savory recipes and into the compelling stories behind them. Taste is a reflection on the intersection of food and life, filled with anecdotes about his growing up in Westchester, New York.

Book Filled W/Love and Laughter
Reviewed: 06-19-22
I love Stanley, he is such an amazing narrator, great sense of humor, and is just a wonderful storyteller. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, so much that I had to order the book because I needed the recipes lol! I laughed so hard from the Andouillette story, I could not stop laughing. As a chef and film caterer I thank him for the mention, it lets me know I am doing my job properly as we serve all types of cuisine on film sets.
This book gave so much insight into who Mr. Tucci is and how it all began lol! I love how he ended the story as well. So many things we take for granted especially the simplest things. I don't mind that I got to listen to his extraordinary voice and have to buy the book for the recipes after all it's Stanley Tucci, did we really think there would be no recipes in THIS book?
