I have yet to be disappointed with anything from House Andrews, Ilona Gordon, and Renee Raudman’s performance, excellence unfolded!

Too many characters thrown in at once and convoluted descriptive world views that only cause confusion. You find yourself thinking where am I now and who’s who? Then there are some graphic scenes thrown in but with all the characters jammed in your brain you can’t connect the scene to the story.
Ashley has also included characters from a different series and that takes my attention from trying to figure out who, what, and where, and now trying to listen for some past character recognition.
There’s also the problem with the names, my family is made up of different names; ie Jayden, Raquel, Blaze, Nero etc... so I’m not against the unusual. Ashley seems to have looked up some doozies and expects you to remember the lineup when all it does is make one too tired to try.
I love some Kristen Ashley but with this one I’ll need to take some loose leaf out and draw up a character tree.

I love the imagery the Andrews team convey through their written word. So to have the opportunity to listen to one of their stories is a treat for the ears and mind.

Where does Kindred in Death rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

As far as other audiobooks Kindred in Death ranks up in the high 5%. In respect to J.D. Robb's in Death series this one's a keeper.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I deeply enjoyed Robb's delivery of plot and timing. Her use of characters and their roles in this book was EXCELLENT. The layers were so rich in content, the pacing of the storytelling was on point. Loved listening to every word.

Have you listened to any of Susan Ericksen’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Susan Ericksen's consistency with keeping each character's inflections was incredible. It kept me imaging the action, not breaking my concentration with the story.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did have an emotion reaction to this story. When Eve watches the recording it broke my heart, yet she proved yet again why she's so kicka$$.

Would you listen to Betrayal in Death again? Why?

I am an avid reader so for me to purchase an audio of a book that I've read it has to be special. Betrayal In Death is another great audio. I have listened to J.D. Robb's in Death series multiple times and am still entertained by Susan Erickson's characterizations. Out of 44 in Death books with the 45th Calculated in Death due in Feb. 2013, I am rarely disappointed. This one's a keeper!

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I have read all the in Death series multiple times and do purchase the unabridged audios of the most interesting reads, this one made the list. Betrayal in Death has a fast paced plot, with lots of investigative action and trademark Eve & Roarke byplay. With a surprising guest Robb gives us another treat into Roarke's interesting past. I love the supporting characters and Robb teases us with more Summerset/Eve interaction. The Feds get involved in this one and Eve kicks butt!

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

Susan Erickson's interpretation of the text and characters is spot on, she keeps it believable. Erickson must have a multiple personality disorder because I could swear that they 'exist'. Erickson doesn't forget which character she is speaking for and stays within their personality. Great job.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Robb spent a great deal of time with the plot of this crime and it shows, I laughed and cried but to tell you why would spoil the story.

Any additional comments?

Believe me when I say this audio would be a positive addition to the in Death fans and to those who are new to Robb a great start. If you need to judge my taste, some of my other in Death favs were: Survivor, Treachery, Kindred, Vengeance and New York to Dallas.
