Story
Ever since he was a kid, kicking broken soccer balls on the run-down streets of East London, Gary Stevenson dreamed of something bigger. As luck would have it, he was good at numbers. At the London School of Economics, wearing tracksuits and sneakers, Stevenson shocked his posh classmates by winning a competition called “The Trading Game.” The prize? A golden ticket to a new life, as the youngest trader at Citibank.

Story
Logen Ninefingers, infamous barbarian, has finally run out of luck. Caught in one feud too many, he's on the verge of becoming a dead barbarian - leaving nothing behind him but bad songs, dead friends, and a lot of happy enemies. Nobleman, dashing officer, and paragon of selfishness, Captain Jezal dan Luthar has nothing more dangerous in mind than fleecing his friends at cards and dreaming of glory in the fencing circle. But war is brewing, and on the battlefields of the frozen North they fight by altogether bloodier rules.

Great characters

Fun is the first word that comes to mind. It wasn't nearly as outrageous as a Tarantino film, but it had that fun feel about.
Amidst that fun are some highly contrasting, entertaining, and thoughtful characters that made me look forward to each car ride, round of dirty dishes etc
thanks Joe

Story
Ryokan (1758–1831) is, along with Dogen and Hakuin, one of the three giants of Zen in Japan. But unlike his two renowned colleagues, Ryokan was a societal dropout, living mostly as a hermit and a beggar. He was never head of a monastery or temple. He liked playing with children. He had no dharma heir. Even so, people recognized the depth of his realization, and he was sought out by people of all walks of life for the teaching to be experienced in just being around him.

Story
Reference to the astral plane, or Kâmaloka as it is called in Sanskrit, has frequently been made by Theosophical writers, and a good deal of information on the subject of this realm of nature is to be found scattered here and there in our books; but there is not, so far as I am aware, any single volume to which one can turn for a complete summary of the facts at present known to us about this interesting region. The object of this manual is to collect and make some attempt to arrange this scattered information, and also to supplement it slightly in cases where new facts have come to our knowledge.

you'll either appreciate this book or not, but can't imagine why you'd spend your time with this material just to debase it...
I wouldn't say this was performed as much as clearly read aloud, not very "entertaining" but this isn't an entertaining piece.
Well read, thank you

I started with pile of bones and loved it. Moved on to Legend of the first empire and loved that too. Figured I'd stick with chronological order in the story world since I made it this far and wasn't disappointed.

I was a little dubious that an actor was the narrator but Ron Pearlman was the right person for the job.
His voice gave the boys a little street cred that brought the story to life.
