Story
Activating the body’s natural healing processes has been proven to lift the oppressive effects of trauma—PTSD, chronic tension, pain, irritability, difficulty in relationships, and a lackluster daily experience. In this volume, practitioner and worldwide trainer Giten Tonkov expands on successful body-based, trauma-release therapies to teach average people how to break the trauma cycle, improve relationships, and achieve healthier, more fulfilling day-to-day lives.

Spreads itself too thin, lacks depth and insight
Reviewed: 12-12-24
I was hoping this book would be filled with in-depth insights about breathwork and healing trauma from Giten's extensive experience. Instead it attempts to be an overview of trauma psychology while frequently referencing Giten's system BBTRS.
If you're unfamiliar with trauma psychology the surface level information could be useful though you'd be much better off reading a book like The Body Keeps the Score. If you are familiar then most of this book will feel like trivial references with a lot of fluff and few hidden gems of insight.
In the editor's foreward the editor mentions they're a ghostwriter who did a lot of research for this book and that's exactly how it reads, not very engaging or insightful.

I found the content to be very valuable. The virtual voice narration detracted greatly from the enjoyment and, occasionally, detracted from comprehension. The virtual voice often inserted unusual pauses, making it difficult to follow, and sometimes read words very fast or abruptly stopped.

Interesting idea poorly executed with some pretty prose. Performance could have been better but it could have been worse.
