When Rachel Shaw and Jack Fletcher meet on a sunny Georgia barrier island, it seems like the perfect start to a romance. There's just one problem—neither is the least bit interested in falling in love. They're simply looking for peace, and time to work through their losses. But Rachel's Aunt Eleanor and Fletch's Gram have a few surprises in store for these two wounded souls.

Story
I never wanted to be a daredevil. Even as the 49-year-old adult that I am, I still don’t want to ride a roller coaster or jump out of a perfectly good airplane. And I don’t understand people who want to do those things—even my lifelong best friend. And yet, here I am, holding a list of daredevilish things in my hand at my best friend’s will reading.

I love RH books, this story line was fabulous. Unfortunately, I was not empresses with this narrator at all. I almost didn’t finish it because of her lack of emotion. She seems somewhat robotic. I listen to audiobooks because I spend so much time driving it is easier than physically reading.

Story
Lillie Silva knew life as an empty nester would be hard after her only child left for college, but when her husband abruptly dumps her for another woman just as her son leaves, her world comes crashing down. Besides the fact that this announcement is a complete surprise (to say the least), what shocks Lillie most is that she isn't...heartbroken. She's furious. Lillie has loved her life on Cape Cod, but as a mother, wife and nurse-midwife, she's used to caring for other people...not taking care of herself.

Story
Mark Rivers was a firefighter until he got trapped in a wildfire and suffered third-degree burns on his face and body. After a year of recovering, Mark is trying to piece his life back together but struggles both emotionally and psychologically. He's been a recluse until he forces himself to attend his niece's school play and sees Riley, the school's art teacher. Immediately, Mark feels a connection to her. Maybe it's the kind way she greets his niece or the way the art she created for the school play is reminiscent of his late mom's artwork.
