Story
Two years ago, Olivia Martindale left behind her Montana hometown and her husband, Jace, certain it was the best decision for both of them. Back temporarily to protect her almost-adopted daughters from their biological mother, she discovers an old, handwritten cookbook in the attic. Its pages are stained and torn, their edges scorched by flame. Some have been smeared by water or tears. The recipes are written in different hands and in different languages.

This is the VERY BEST BOOK I've read (listened to) in a long long time! What a well told...gripping story. Plan on listening to it until it has finished, because you will not be able to put it down! I especially loved the explanation by the author at the very end of how she researched for this book, and how it is truly based on real people! A heart wrenching story...no one should ever forget what happened to these people so that it never happens again. Well worth a credit...BRAVO!

I ran across this book and thought I would give it a try based on the reviews. I am so glad that I did. This has got to be my favorite book of this year. When I finished it, I immediately went looking to see if Tracy Rees had any more books that I might like. I am right now listening to "Amy Snow". The narrators in both of the books are wonderful to listen to and the stories are so gripping....they just drag you in and won't let go until you are at the end. Love, love, love this author. I hope to see more books from her. Both books are well worth a credit!!!

COLOSSAL WASTE OF MONEY
Reviewed: 08-31-16
I LOVE SEP books....until this one. The biggest waste of a credit EVER! Boring, ridiculous story line. Narrator is annoying. Come on folks....at least pronounce the names of the characters in the other books correctly. If I heard her pronounce CALE-BO one more time I would have to smash my iPhone. Doesn't anyone proof read (oops...listen) to the book before publishing it? I kept waiting for it to get better....instead it got worse. Don't waste your money on this one! I wish I could say it left me disappointed...instead, it left me angry that I was suckered into buying a SEP book and I have my doubts she actually wrote it. If she did, she better retire!

Of course, I had to rush right out and buy the next book in the series. I will be watching for any books by Virginia Kantra from now on. She now has become one of my favorite authors. Really good listen!
