I had trouble in the beginning of this book and again in the middle, with staying focused. I had to reread a few parts. However, the end was truly incredible. I could see it coming (I read Jodi Picoult’s My Sister’s Keeper 15 years ago) but gosh that chapter 27 wrecked me as a parent!

I would have given this 4.5 starts if I could, only because I had to reload-listen to a few sections to make sure I caught everything. The twist was unmatched in this one! I wanted to cry with sadness, heartbreak and relief so many times over while reading this one!

I almost didn’t read this as I didn’t love the first book. I’m glad I read it and I’m looking forward to reading Book 2.5!

During certain points of the story I felt like I was sitting in a lecture hall too often (both Olivia and Lily’s sections). However, I feel like this book could educate folks who don’t seek out educating themselves on certain social issues. I appreciated the well thought out portions during the trial and how well those parts educated us without feeling like we were on school. This is a painful story-for Olivia, Asher, Lily, everyone. It was so nice to hear from both of the authors on this one at the end!

I really liked that I was excited to get back to this book each time I had to put it down. I felt gaslit the entire book-she did an excellent job of getting the reader to empathize with the characters in that way. My only complaint was the ending wasn’t exactly what I expected. It may be that the plot ending didn’t come across as well in audiobook format or I zoned out and missed something. I’m looking forward to reading another of her books!

I enjoyed the first 7 or so hours of this one. It ended up dragging on a bit for my taste because it began to take away from the story. I truly enjoyed hearing about the negotiations and “behind the scenes” parts of Happy Days, as that’s how I was introduced to Henry Winkler as a kid. It was nice to hear about his personal life, too, and from his own voice.

This story is one that my own parent warned me about growing up as a daughter of a Greek father and American mother. The way Liz tells her story invokes deep emotion, longing and a mother bear reaction from me now that I am both an adult and parent myself. I could not put this book down. What an important story to share. The only part I did not like was the consistent mispronunciation of Greek names and places-although it did not deter me from finishing the book.

I really love that John narrates his own book. I began expecting the juicy details of behind the scenes at Full House and I feel like that’s what I got. I’m glad wrote this when he did.

How difficult it must have been for her to write her story. However difficult, I believe it important to be heard. At times it was so sad to hear the pain she went through at the hands of the people who were supposed to love and care for her. This wasn’t super well written or anything but, I appreciate that she wrote this using her own words.
