About this listen

The Last Letter is a haunting, heartbreaking and ultimately inspirational love story.“ (InTouch Weekly)

Beckett,

If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have.

I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride.

My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair.

And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help.

So if I’m gone, that means I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this. But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, go take care of my sister, my family.

Please don’t make her go through it alone.

Ryan

All the feels

This was an amazing story that leads listeners through so many emotions. The narration brings the story to life and makes you feel what the characters are feeling. I can not recommend this book enough. It will tear your heart to pieces before sewing you back up. So good.

emotional.. "SPOILERS!"

WARNING. I'm going to try not to spill too much, but I need to dive in a little to some what express my honest review. I do not usually leave reviews unless the book is horrible. That is not the case here!!
Rebecca Yarros is such a phenomenal author. So phenomenal in fact I had to pump the breaks several times to pull myself together, and still could not get past the last 4 chapters. I was a bawling mess, snot bubbles and all, as I skipped to the Epilogue. I'm tearing up now writing this review many hours later. Her writing drew me in so deep. I have never once in my 50 years of life, not finished a story because of the emotional impact it had on my soul. I was a teen mom, married early, then life happened, and I became single Mom 3 littles later. I worked 3 jobs, put myself through college. I still carry guilt for not being enough. Regret for all the things I missed out on while I was working. There were many times I remember the, "Where's my Dad", "Why doesn't he love us", questions. Being pulled in different directions, because there was only 1 of me and 3 of them. Each in a different school. So many relatable challenges, and real life experiences drew me in even deeper. I also had a child with serious health issues in her early years. Nothing like cancer thankfully, but if not treated could have been fatal. The story is brilliant. The characters are amazing but, Colt.😞... Colt is my favorite!
That lil man's heart was bigger than him. He's the glue, a fierce protector, and so full of courage for every one. He reminded me of my son when he was a tike. Please do not allow my review to discourage the experience that is "The Last Letter". I highly recommend 100 %.
It hit me in a way that had me leaving sobbing, "I love you's" to all 3 of my grown children. We had all just video chatted less than 12 hours prior. I learned the hard way. There are 3 things in this world that once you lose them, you can never get there back. Time, Energy, and a Child. The time flies by so fast. Those dishes, and laundry will be there tomorrow. Yep, I'm bawling again. Whew this book.

OMG

First I would like to say that I dont normally leave reviews mainly because im not great at finding the words i'd like to use to express my feelings but this one was worth the review. This was a great book. Well written and preformed wonderfully. The ending was a complete shock to me! I cried so much, my family was like its just a book lol. You really felt the characters and their emotions. If you aren't in the mood for a emotional Rollercoaster maybe skip this one but if you like really feeling the emotions of the characters you read about this is for you!

This book GUTTED me

This book GUTTED me. Grab tissues, because you're going to need them. This book is a great mixture of romance and tragedy, and as a mother - it broke me, but I’d read it again even knowing that. So take that as you will.

I experienced every emotion!

This story pulled me in and took me for a ride I didn't know I needed. Each nuance of emotion was pulled from deep inside, brought to light and examined. This will be a book I never forget!

Keep your tissues close!

I shed so many tears during this book. It was such an amazing story of love and forgiveness. I loved how the letters were woven into the present day story which helps us better understand the then and now.

What an amazing story!

I seriously loved everything about this story. It’s different and heartfelt. Ella & Beckett are perfect. Maisie and Colton have that amazing twin thing. But there are hard themes and the ugly cry I did was one of the hardest in a very long time. The book hangover will be real! Narration was incredible!!!
