Story
It is the morning of the reaping that will kick off the 10th annual Hunger Games. In the Capitol, 18-year-old Coriolanus Snow is preparing for his one shot at glory as a mentor in the Games. The once-mighty house of Snow has fallen on hard times, its fate hanging on the slender chance that Coriolanus will be able to out charm, outwit, and outmaneuver his fellow students to mentor the winning tribute. The odds are against him. He’s been given the humiliating assignment of mentoring the female tribute from District 12, the lowest of the low.

Why no actual singing?
Reviewed: 06-02-23
I'm baffled why an audiobook where songs play such a big role wouldn't have a narrator who could actually sing them, especially a book from such a popular series

Story
In 1929 Stalin launched his policy of agricultural collectivization - in effect a second Russian Revolution - which forced millions of peasants off their land and onto collective farms. The result was a catastrophic famine, the most lethal in European history. At least five million people died between 1931 and 1933 in the USSR. But instead of sending relief, the Soviet state made use of the catastrophe to rid itself of a political problem.

Excellent military sci-fi in the Star Wars universe, and so much better than almost anything in the new canon. Why did Disney erase this stuff?

Story
It's the end of the 19th century. San Francisco's cobblestone streets are haunted, but Chinatown has an unlikely protector in a young Daoist priestess named Li-lin. Using only her martial arts training, spiritual magic, a sword made from peachwood, and the walking, talking spirit of a human eye, Li-lin stands alone to defend her immigrant community from supernatural threats. But when the body of a young girl is brought to the deadhouse Li-lin oversees for a local group of gangsters, she faces her most bewildering - and potentially dangerous - assignment yet.

So where's the next book?

I was an early fan of The Girl With Ghost Eyes, even though I thought it was a little bogged down by exposition and that the plot kind of meandered at times. Even so, I loved the setting and wanted more. Well, in this book, all of that world-building pays off. We get both a deeper look at Chinatown, as well as a chance to step outside of it. Future plots are teased, past ones are called back. I finished this book wanting the next RIGHT NOW. So where is it?
