Story
Two blood-spattered strangers awake, locked in the trunk of a car - with a murdered cop and the smoking gun. Aside from raging headaches and no idea what's happened, they appear to have nothing in common. Troy thinks it's 2001 and he's still a combat surgeon fighting terrorists in Afghanistan. Emmy believes it's 2002 and she's still grifting a living from the streets of L.A.

Fun, interesting, entertaining

I liked it from the start and expected it to move on a different path from the moment the trunk opened.
I chose the book because I have read or listened to other of Tim's books and find the approach fun and engaging. And of course I could probably listen to almost anything Dick Hill reads to me.
Enjoy the book, you will never be certain where the story is going and you will not be tempted to put it aside.

Story
For David Goggins, childhood was a nightmare--poverty, prejudice, and physical abuse colored his days and haunted his nights. But through self-discipline, mental toughness, and hard work, Goggins transformed himself from a depressed, overweight young man with no future into a US Armed Forces icon and one of the world's top endurance athletes. The only man in history to complete elite training as a Navy SEAL, Army Ranger, and Air Force tactical air controller, he went on to set records in numerous endurance events.

It seemed like a good story to motivate me to push a little harder. It turned out to be a personal diary, lots of bragging (deserved but not motivational) and the story of his life.
Overall it was worth the time invested and the approach of some story telling blended with the reading worked well and reduced the amount of vulgarity. I'm not a sensitive one and will occasionally use vulgar language but it does not seem to add to the story and just like Goggins tells us, if it does not serve a purpose, stop wasting your effort.

Story
Reacher is on a Greyhound bus, minding his own business, with no particular place to go and all the time in the world to get there. Then, he steps off the bus to help an old man who is obviously just a victim waiting to happen. But you know what they say about good deeds. Now, Reacher wants to make it right. An elderly couple have made a few well-meaning mistakes, and now they owe big money to some very bad people. One brazen move leads to another, and suddenly Reacher finds himself a wanted man in the middle of a brutal turf war between rival Ukrainian and Albanian gangs.

No, No, Nooooooo
Reviewed: 11-26-19
I forgave Lee Child when referred to a man 6' tall weighing 220 pounds as siney, and/or thin.
I tried to forgive him for taking our 6'5" 250 pound Reacher and letting the holywood short guy play him in the movies (I see where that has ended and it should have never started).
I do not forgive fake news, easy-peazy things in this story, or even calling the wash post when he could have easily called any major, national paper (very few off the east coast read the wapo, why not a NY paper or one with real national coverage and one that is not the delivery system for the fake news like in the story.
And they could have added air vents for a dollar rather than buying the new air conditioner. Or the he had seen air conditioners like these in hotels, after describing the tall ones made for data centers. Huh?
The entire story rolled out way too easy. Things fell into place a bit easier than earlier Reacher stories. Reacher was barely scuffed, I like when he is at least challenged. He quickly found someone to read and translate the language he needed for the story, and the waitress, and a small team. He never purchased new clothes which has become a standard detail.
I was cautious as the story on the bus unfolded, then when the guy sold his old Chevy for more than it is worth - don't authors have researchers? Why do they know guns so intimately but not other things? What color was his coat that held 4 pistols?
I agree with a few other comments about Reacher became way to chatty, played subtle political things (this makes the story a one-time deal, you cannot re-read this later and have the fake news be relevant) so for good measure they added porn? Gee Lee, why not have the bad guys deal in bitcoin and drive a Tesla?
Nope, not going back to this again. No more money to read about Racher.
I do think Scott Brick is one of the very best thought. Yes, Dick Hill is great, both are great.

It's enjoyable, too long, & somewhat political
Reviewed: 11-11-18
It is easy to get lost in this lengthy story as it twists through the plot, new characters come and go, and it is long for an audio book. I am not sure that all the messaging on politics makes the story better so if it were removed, the book could be shorter and easier to follow. I wanted to hear and savor every nuance of Art’s trip through this ordeal but often the plot would shift slightly and I would need to reengage with the story.
The areas were described in great detail. The people were described quite well. The problems were made clear and overall it was a good story. When it read too much like a newspaper report on the drug cartel it took from the pleasure of reading the novel

Story
A high-profile attorney in the middle of a leave of absence following a personal tragedy is drawn back into the legal arena amidst a media firestorm when he agrees to represent a popular rap artist accused of brutally murdering his pop star girlfriend. With its powerful voice, pause-resisting tension, and strong cast of characters, Adam Mitzner’s novels are reminiscent of such best-selling authors as Scott Turow and John Grisham.

Not as good as I expected

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Most likley I would not unless it was free and they were going on a long trip with relatives
If you’ve listened to books by Adam Mitzner before, how does this one compare?
N/A
What three words best describe Kevin T. Collins’s voice?
Above average but tried too hard
Was A Case of Redemption worth the listening time?
on a scale of 1-100 it's a solid 60. It is not a go out and buy it but a if you have time, go ahead
Any additional comments?
I disliked this book in the first chapters when we met the conniving Nina. I warmed to the good story but characters were only partially evolved.
Again, like so many authors our protagonist had to have personal wealth in order for this story to work. Without enough money, he could not have taken the case.
Collins narrated okay but unlike Scott Brick and others I will actually listen to reading books I would normally not choose, Kevin only hit the needle a little above average. He over-tried intonation in my opinion.
The judge made me wonder if a court room can really be this bad. I flashed back to the movie, My Cousin Vinny and wondered if that was the extreme opposite.
The things that kept me going were the twists.
If I could quote another reviewer it would be Elizabet on 5-30-13. She hit every point nicely.
As an aside, I gave up network television over a year ago and I do find it takes more to entertain me now. I buy 24+ audio books a year, borrow audio books from the library, and even get used discs from Amazon. I listen to genres out of my norm and enjoy many but do wonder if my threshold for being truly entertained has been reset higher when I read/listen to some books.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
Yes, it is full of entertaining twists, characters you can love and hate, and scenery.
What other book might you compare Six Years to and why?
Not sure, Coben's work is unique and it is hard to compare to other works that are equally entertaining for other reasons
Which scene was your favorite?
Held in the van against his will and fighting his way out.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Appreciate your professors - they take a risk to be here.

In his fascinating new book, How Bad Do You Want It?, coach Matt Fitzgerald examines more than a dozen pivotal races to discover the surprising ways elite athletes strengthen their mental toughness.

A series of barely linked anecdotes

Would you try another book from Matt Fitzgerald and/or Matt Fitzgerald?
No
Would you ever listen to anything by Matt Fitzgerald again?
No. Matt’s voice cracks. It becomes increasingly more difficult to listen to as the book roils on.
How could the performance have been better?
Fewer stories, fewer details on the stories. Color of shirt? Number of burgers? Shade of sand? None of these added to the quality, they worked to fill the story.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
It has those inspirational stories about others who have faced more challenges than most of us listening to the book ever will

Convoluted and not fun to follow
Reviewed: 07-30-17
What disappointed you about Razor Girl?
Razor Girl is a series of connected witticisms, smarmy lines, adjectives, and descriptive terms that go overboard. It is not enjoyable to follow as the first books were like Lucky You and Double Whammy
What do you think your next listen will be?
Something by Grabenstein or Corcoran
What do you think the narrator could have done better?
The narrator was okay. A bit distracting with the changes to the individual characters but this alone was not a deal killer
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment.
