Story
Dante, Blays, and Gladdic's final effort to defeat him has failed. Within weeks—if not days—Rale will be destroyed. One last hope remains. They can't kill Nolost, but they may be able to eject him from Rale before he can complete his work. To do so, though, they'll have to destroy a world themselves: Olastar, the home of the portals that link all other places together.

Slow moving and repetitive.

I found it just a waste of time and nothing new really happens. It just seems like I’m being strung along to the next books in the series. It’s becoming a real slog.

Plot devices come out of nowhere and character actions are nonsensical. I couldn’t get past the immature characters. I finished it but didn’t enjoy it at all. I kept giving it a chance and wasted my time.

Story
“Before I can begin my tale, you need to know about the king's panties.” So begins the epic adventure of 14-year-old Nigel, digger of latrines, shoveler of poop, and the single greatest threat to all the humans, elves, and halflings of Esteria. Nigel needs to escape from military school. Who can blame him? After all, the king just declared war on the gorks, and he's pretty sure his latrine-digging skills aren't going to be much good on the front lines.

It's a light hearted, fun listen for a family or young listeners but don't expect complexity.

Very weak

There’s no character development. The plot is simplistic and contrived. I won’t get another book in the series.
