Really liked the story, narration, peculiar characters all of which were well developed and seemed to develop or unfold in different ways. Also liked it’s being a self- contained story, but if there were to be a sequel I’d read it in a heartbeat!

Mr. Sanderson weaves a compelling yarn, and over the years only gets more 3 dimensional, greatly aided by the superb narration. Like Mark Twain, he lacks a compelling insight into sexuality and the relations between the sexes, but nevertheless, this is still a great conclusion to a series I hope to see furthered. The minor quibble above is certainly preferential to to childish excesses of an otherwise equally great series by Rebecca Yarrow. Keep up the great work and your growth as a writer- these are anything but stick figures moving through action sequences!!

I very much enjoyed this story in good measure because the reading/narrative was done so well. 16th century Venice and the ottoman empire are areas of marginal familiarity to me, but this audio book puts them in context and brings alive alien cultures and times and the bubonic plague certainly puts the current coronavirus in a broader perspective as well!
