Story
Life as a Magical Engineer has never been quite as I expected it would be, but the truth is, I wouldn't change it for the world. Sure, there have been a lot of obstacles. My apartment was blown up, I was kidnapped, my psycho cousin even tried to have me killed. And now, my parents are forcing me to marry someone they picked. However, I also met some pretty amazing people, helped AMIA dismantle the resistance, and even stopped a coup from happening. But most of all, I found love.

Voices, especially male, too robotic
Reviewed: 04-02-25
This particular book didn’t do much with the overall story of the previous ones. Mostly just getting new boyfriends, which quickly became annoying. The male narrator is SO robotic and is not the right fit for reading this book.

Story
A great primal power has risen. The Queen of Flesh and Fire has become the Primal of Blood and Bone—the true Primal of Life and Death. And the battle Casteel, Poppy, and their allies have been fighting has only just begun. Gods are awakening across Iliseeum and the mortal realm, readying for the war to come. But when Poppy falls into stasis, Cas faces the very real possibility that the dire, unexpected consequences of what she is becoming could take her away from him.

Needs a bit more

Overall I enjoyed it, as I love the series and it was great to get Castille’s viewpoint. But…it just seemed like the last book read all over again for the most part. Right as something new finally happened, it abruptly ended; I was just really getting into it! Still love the series and can’t wait for the next book.

Story
I'm Charisma Carter, tech genius and nerd extraordinaire. I actually used to be Charisma Silverstorm, member of one of the six elite Arcane Families, until my family shunned me when I turned 18 because my magic wasn't strong enough. However, where I lack in magic I more than make up for with the tech I develop, if I do say so myself. Apparently I'm not the only one. From the minute I received my diploma as a magical engineer, it seems like my world has turned upside down. Now, members of all six families are competing to get me to work for them.

Should have stuck with one reader

The overall story is really good and you get sucked in pretty early. It did seem that the book ended in the middle instead of being a complete book. But really did enjoy it.
My criticism comes with the male reader as he sounded robotic. It made listening really difficult as I didn’t like it. I’ve never listened to a book that switched between readers, and don’t find it necessary.
