Story
The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des Rêves, and it is only open at night. But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway - a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors.

A reverie of The Night Circus

What a find for a student of conscious awareness! Jim Dale brings the Audi version to life as he did for the Harty Potter series. No wands here. Magic through conscious awareness. Being aware in a world of most others on auto pilot. I e listened and read a number of times. More layers revealed each time.

Story
Some lines should never be crossed. Police corruption, an investigation that ends in tragedy and the mystery of a little girl’s silence – three unconnected events that will prove to be linked by one small town. While detective Cormac Reilly faces enemies at work and trouble in his personal life, garda Peter Fisher is relocated out of Galway with the threat of prosecution hanging over his head. But even that is not as terrible as having to work for his overbearing father, the local copper for the pretty seaside town of Roundstone.

What a beautiful opportunity to get to know a remarkable man. His insights, pondering & music are shared as a journey from his beginnings to the present time. Including all of us in this world of “we” that are in this journey of life, together. I’ve listened 3 times already and each time enjoy the weaving of his playing and new discoveries of cultures and their music. I will listen to anything Yo-Yo Ma plays for the depth & soul he weaves with his music with my own to soar to other places and depths that help me be a better, more aware being. Thank you for such a gift! Perhaps he will write and weave more insightful sharing of life with his playing.

I loved this book. So much so I’ll be listening to it again. Chip is engaging, vulnerable and his storytelling makes it easy to remember the endless tips and wisdom about living the good life. Which the bottom line is how to be yourself in a world that values cookie cutter careers, behavior, paths and education. I don’t fit in either, Chip. Another trail blazer like you & Joanna. I look forward to meeting you both some day! Thank you for such a valuable share given without judgement and an A thru Z index of do it like me & you’ll be successful. This book is full if heart, soul & love, beautiful!

Such visual beauty and pain of loss in a memoir rich in strength and perseverance of heart.

Drenched in the love & traditions of a Sicilian community and it's food this memoir was beautiful and painful in it's richness of life and descriptions of it's people, food and countryside. Pain so aching yet beautiful to witness of a Sicilian man and his African American wife and those left behind. I loved this book and miss it's characters and listening to Tembi narrating.

An all time favorite story outside of any usual genre.

Ann Patchett has created characters so distinct in character they were recognizable for who they were. No blending into each other. I had a different sense & feelings for each of them. I appreciate how each one has their own morals, feelings and point of view shown without having to go into great detail. I love how Ann weaves her words as a story teller. And what a story she tells. Each time reading or listening to it I am curious enough to research something she mentions. A story filled with unusual circumstances and unlikely happenings yet it fits together and works. Just read it!
