This is the companion audio to the book and is not made clear in the description. The beginning of the audio states with, "you must read the book before starting..."

It’s so important to follow the science

I bought this book as I’ve been feeling more and more uncomfortable with everything I see and hear about transgender issues, especially concerning children and the destruction of women’s sport. I have a very good friend who’s trans so I wanted to understand the science in order to understand my discomfort and better help her. This book cleverly walked me through all the issues and explained the science and reasons for the lack of public debate behind each point. The discussion on gender was fascinating. It also highlighted the issues trans people face and how society is unfortunately being forced to follow political correctness and not science, which ultimately benefits neither those who are trans, or society. I now understand why I’m so uncomfortable with the issues, few are based on science. Thank you.

A must read in today’s confused society

I’ve watched a good friend transition from male to female and seen the pros and cons. I’ve listened to the children around me voice confusion on the differences between boys and girls. I’ve read the comments on social media about trans activism and the impact on our children with increasing dismay. This book walked me through the research and evidence and helped me understand what’s going on and how to deal with it. And also that we must use the very clear science to stop so many incorrect beliefs, like gender is a social construct, from destroying our society. Well structured, well written and well read. Thank you.

Would you listen to Head On again? Why?

Ian was one of my sporting hero's growing up so it was fascinating to learn more about the man behind the public persona. His honesty about his strengths and weaknesses was refreshing and really helped give a better understanding of who he is and what shaped him as a person. It was also brilliant to get his view on both the people running English cricket and the tabloid scum around at that time. Most cricket fans of that era would agree with everything he wrote.
It's a long book, but, if you remember the matches of that time, a highly enjoyable trip down memory lane.

For the first time in my life I am learning a language and remembering the vocab. But... it's only because some kind person wrote a transcript I could download off the net to refer to. Unbelievably, this adult learning program does not include any notes and without them, as a strongly visual learner, this course would have be worthless. I have to constantly stop the audio to look up words as I have no idea what is being said from the different pronunciation from the 2 speakers.

Easy to follow and the repetition, although seemingly annoying at first, is actually what makes the words stick.
Where I (and my friend who's also learning) struggle is the male voice versus the female. He is sometimes hard to understand, so much so that we have to look up the word online as we can't tell what he's saying! Never have that problem with the female voice.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed the revealing stories and overall nature of this book but was disappointed it wasn't read by Dawn herself. Liza Tarbuck did a great job, but she's not Dawn, in timing or voice, so some of the overall emotion was lost. Shame.
