It's hard to not like Grant Cardone. He succeeded in spite of huge odds. If you need that pep talk, get this Audible and you will not be disappointed. If you're already self-motivated, you can pick up pointers with this. Beyond that, like anything there's a point of diminishing returns. Take what works, shrug off what doesn't apply to you, and continue to promote your own brand. Grant is spot on though. You better believe it takes 10 times what you think, so you better prepare to think and plan BIG. Or you can be happy just being average, your choice.

Great compilation / poor audio quality

It's a great compilation of Brian Tracy's best advice. The audio quality lacks, I'm surprised by that. Whoever compiled this album needs to apply some filters, it sounds like he's eating with every sentence, I'm sure he wasn't. Get past that, and the material is awesome. Tracy is the answer to the dissatisfaction with the "old school" of selling. If you practice those old techniques, you will stay on track, but customers have grown tired and you won't make the sale. Much of the published works about selling from the 1950-1990 were pre-internet, pre-email, pre-cyber days, Sales trainers were probably good Football coaches too. Back when the phone, mail, and in-person calls were all we had. Today everything is lighting fast, but we need to make sure your customers know there's a real human behind it all. That high touch / high tech is where we live and we all need to adjust to that reality. Brilliant that Brian Tracy continues to evolve and keeps it ethical.

None of us can ignore Jordan Belfort

Belfort proved then, as now, selling is the highest paid / hardest work. The story of how he managed, encouraged, coached and motivated a huge group of derelicts (for lack of better word) is masterful. Yes they took advantage of people and broke laws. That by itself is not the example to get. The actors that played Belfort (DiCaprio, and Affleck) were just actors. They don't even come close. Try listening to a recent Belfort presentation about the straight line system. He instinctively knows how people think and react in a sales situation. You don't learn that by reading a book, or listening to a lecture. I don't think DiCaprio ever had to sell ice cream on the boardwalk, or cold call for mortgage refi leads, to earn a few dollars and get into college by himself. That insight is something that cannot be faked. Belfort is a true self made millionaire and the message is how all the motivation comes together, and what drives him to succeed. And I applaud the straight line system anyhow, and salespersons everywhere need to stop having nice conversations, and just sell. Your customers respect you more when you dispense with any B.S. and get down to business. That said, just be sure you're selling something that's real, not a pump and dump scheme that might land you in jail. There is a fine line between sanity, and insanity, between what's illegal and sheer brilliance. At the end of the day, Belfort should have dialed it back some instead of crossing the edge. Just saying there's wisdom to be had here, and we need to listen with an open mind.
