I really enjoyed the different character types. As someone who grew up in a restrictive, religious home, I too found healing in nature. I felt like it was very relatable while being fun.

I laughed so many times. I felt like this was a classic, light story was relatable. As a hiker and NPS enthusiast for my entire life, many of the little comments brought joy to my heart. Only draw back was the female performance of a southern male accent (shudder).

I really enjoy Penny Reid's whit but this book didn't meet the standard I assumed it would have. I listened to this book on 1.75 speed to get through it faster. The mystery wasn't there for me at all, sadly.

Who knew you could laugh at murder? I genuinely enjoyed this, although the narrator, Joy Nash is a tad grating with the southern accent, especially in the beginning when she's screeching, not graet for a road trip read at first.

I have really enjoyed this trilogy! It is well written and brings tension and humor at great times. Definitely one trilogy to keep around!

I didn't expect to love this book as much as I do, the start is a bit slow but the foundation is necessary. LOVE the cliff hanger, very well written and dramatized. One for the book shelf for sure.

The story was fine. But the female narration drove me crazy! She rushes everything! It didn't matter if I slowed the speed or not, I felt like she literally was uncomfortably speed reading the book. I wanted so badly to skip to the male parts to redeem my attention.

It wasn't the narration as much as the way the book was written that was hard to be behind. I had seen lots of good reviews for this book, but it just didn't do it for me sadly.

I feel like Janie is my brain in the world

I loved feeling connected to Janie, shoot, I have been her, and I greatly enjoyed being inside her brain. However, as much as I like Quinn, I don't feel like I know him, he's supposed to have demons? I think? I felt very disconnected from him, the epilogue was probably the first time I felt him.

BUT THE REAL ISSUE
This book does NOT deserve the "hot damn" rating. "Simmering" would have been appropriate. After all those rambling thoughts in average moments, I would have thought that Janie would have some VERY interesting moments in bed with Quinn. (sigh) But no, I feel like that was a missed golden opportunity for some very awkward yet hilarious moments and most likely, great insight into Quinn in a more intimate setting.

Still loved the book though! I was cry laughing!

I could barely handle the narrator. All the characters sound the same with hardly any fluxuation in her voice. This was also marked under romance... for some reason I don't know why. I'm glad I didn't buy this book though!
