a great Western story, a great survival story.

An excellent, if fictional, recounting of the story of Hugh Glass of the Rocky Mountain Fur Company. It's week worth investigating if you like stories of the American Frontier, exploration, and survival.

I forgot how much I enjoyed these books, and 'The Lightning Stones' was a nice reintroduction to a fun series and character. i wouldn't rate it as my favorite book in the series (that one might have been River of Ruin or Pandora's Curse), but it was a fun time all the same. Scott Brick did a fine job with the narration.

What else can I say? It's a fantasy coming of age story done right, the story of a boy who, when faced with tragedy, decides to make something of himself and ensure that said tragedy doesn't befall anyone else. The supporting characters were many and we'll written by and large, the world interesting, and the action, when present, was excellent. The narration was great, just like the writing, and I am eagerly awaiting the next book in this series.

Since 1990, virtually no American soldiers have been killed in action anywhere else. What caused this shift? Andrew J. Bacevich, one of the country's most respected voices on foreign affairs, offers an incisive critical history of this ongoing military enterprise - now more than 30 years old and with no end in sight.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

The Wizards Guild has been shattered by a coup and, in the uproar, Geralt was seriously injured.
