I enjoyed the audible. I love how the author allows critical thinking and in detail illustrates the collateral damage when negotiating or not to. Towards the end was a little vanilla but it was definitely a good book

Sadly, in this world, we will encounter people who will use the ‘Dark Arts’ and do whatever it takes to achieve their goals, and in some cases, use the dark arts in such a horrible way, that nobody with a sense of empathy could believe. That is exactly why you need to equip yourself with the education of how these people work, their motivations & most importantly how you can protect yourself and your loved ones from these mind games.

Story
In what is widely hailed as the best of his many novels, Charles Bukowski details the long, lonely years of his own hardscrabble youth in the raw voice of alter ego Henry Chinaski. From a harrowingly cheerless childhood in Germany through acne-riddled high school years, and his adolescent discoveries of alcohol, women, and the Los Angeles Public Library's collection of D. H. Lawrence, Ham on Rye offers a crude, brutal, and savagely funny portrait of an outcast's coming-of-age during the desperate days of the Great Depression.

I did enjoy this long audible. The voice tone of the narrator was neutral. So the narrative could be a love it or hate it as his tone remained slow and steady. The audible was engaging at first and I would say it was "Blackpilled" as the main character was born from a lower income family and developed cystic acne boils as he got older so he was treated unfairly. The Second half of the audible just seemed like the author was filling in to make a longer drawn out book.

Story
Portraying himself as a failure, the protagonist of Osamu Dazai's No Longer Human narrates a seemingly normal life, even while he feels himself incapable of understanding human beings. Oba Yozo's attempts to reconcile himself to the world around him begin in early childhood, continue through high school, where he becomes a "clown" to mask his alienation, and eventually lead to a failed suicide attempt as an adult. Without sentimentality, he records the casual cruelties of life and its fleeting moments of human connection and tenderness.

I couldn't stop listening 🎧

This book has me glued in but slowly crept up on me into sadness. The book was so powerful I walked into my gym listening to the audible. I was working out while listening and forgot to switch to my uplifting upbeat music. After an hour of exercising I was leaving the gym and this gorgeous lady approached me and asked if everything was okay. She said I looked very sad and usually I'm in a happy mood. I explained to her it was the audible I was listening too. The book is powerful. I'm not sure in a good or bad way but I related to the main character because it's written in first person. I see where he was uncomfortable around people such as waiters and restaurants but there was a specific point of the book that just hit me by surprise. I don't want to ruin or spoil anything. This book was so deep I'm not sure if I will ever be the same.

Seeing the author on YouTube on multiple podcasts and streams I always assumed he came from wealth. Although I have no intention of marketing or creating my own business I enjoyed listening to his life experiences. If you aren't planning on starting your own business you can pass on this book as it was mainly business related. That 10% of him sharing his personal life and experiences was enough for me to rate this audible at 5 stars

Story
On the night of October 6, 1998, 21-year-old Matthew Shepard left a bar with two alleged “strangers”, Aaron McKinney and Russell Henderson. Eighteen hours later, Matthew was found tied to a log fence on the outskirts of town, unconscious and barely alive. Overnight, a politically expedient myth took the place of important facts. By the time Matthew died a few days later, his name was synonymous with anti-gay hate. The Book of Matt, first published in 2013, demonstrated that the truth was in fact far more complicated - and daunting.

This book is not homophobic as it is written and researched by an openly gay man.. Jimenez has spent over 20 years gathering facts and incidence including interviews even to the length of visiting prisons. Matt Shepard did not deserve what happened to him and McKinney and Henderson deserved punishment but this was not a hate crime but a situation where drug dealing, drug trafficking, and drug addiction is involved. I was an LGBT supporter when I first saw the Matt Shepherd documentary. Matt Shepherd's mother admitted her son used meth just not in the town where he was murdered. Matt also was arrested at 15 for sexually assaulting two 8 year old girls which was never mentioned at the trial or public media who was all about forcing the gay rights and gay victim agenda. Matt was not as innocent as the media portrayed.

In his early 20s, Curtis Jackson, known as 50 Cent, rose to the heights of fame and power in the cutthroat music business. A decade ago, the multi-platinum selling rap artist decided to pivot. His ability to adapt to change was demonstrated when he became the executive producer and star of Power, a high-octane, gripping crime drama centered around a drug kingpin's family. The series quickly became "appointment" television, leading to Jackson inking a four-year, $150 million contract with the Starz network - the most lucrative deal in premium cable history.
