Really loved this story! Well rounded characters. Good plot. Creative. Just the right balance of romance and adventure. Fast paced and kept the reader engaged. I wish it wasn’t read by AI. I want to hear the rest of the series!

Story
Hockey coach Ashley Jaswal doesn't take nonsense from anyone … except her overbearing and superstitious family. They believe she's a good luck charm for her brother Jas, the newest Vancouver Canucks draft pick, forcing Ash to attend all his games as he rises up the NHL ranks, sacrificing her personal life (not that she has one—who decided hockey season needed to be 10 months long anyway?). Ash also clashes with Jas’s teammate, Canucks captain Devin Snyder.

Hooray for feminism!
Reviewed: 12-04-24
I really enjoyed this book. I loved how it addressed Feminist issues, racism, and setting healthy boundaries. The main character was well rounded. There was some nice moments of humor in the story.
My only criticism would be that the male lead switched from being an ass to being in love with her too fast and her brother‘s transition was even faster. There should’ve been more of a progression.

Just not interesting
Reviewed: 03-30-24
In truth, I did not listen to the full story. I skipped about four hours in the middle. And when I got towards the end, the characters were struggling with the same conflict as in the very beginning. There was nothing to the characters that was particularly lovable. There was nothing in the plot that was interesting.

Story
Max Troika never thought he’d be the alpha of his pack. That was his older brother’s fate. Assassinations have a way of ruining everything. Including who Max can take as a mate. It sure isn’t the cute and curvy librarian inspiring his dirtiest dream every night. Galyna Shirvan has it bad for a guy she never thought a chubby librarian like her could ever win over. Now he’s got all the hots for her, too.

Very mediocre
Reviewed: 02-10-24
I liked the general premise of the story, that it’s OK to love whoever you love. But the plot itself was not very original. The writing was below average. The characters were not particularly endearing. it was just a very mediocre read.
I did not particularly like the male narrator. His female voices were especially bad.

Story
I am the type of woman who always plays it safe. In my professional life as a public relations "fixer", and in my personal life, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. Really, who needs the wild highs and the I-want-to-die-because-he-left-me lows of a relationship? At least, that's what I thought...until I met HIM. Damian No-Last-Name-Given is sexy as sin, and I'd developed some kind of weird, instant attraction to him the moment he settled his chiseled body next to mine on a flight from London to Los Angeles.

Narration was good. Loved the British accent. Plot was silly. Characters were likable. Overall too much inner monologue, very little action. I actually ended up fast forwarding through about half of it.

I liked the development of community & family that Terri creates with all the characters from the previous books. But I had trouble figuring out which character was speaking at several points during the narration. Especially when the other members of Axton’s band started to show up. Band members that weren’t in the previous books. I would definitely recommend not reading this book unless you’ve read the previous books in the series.

Missed Opportunity to shed light on some social injustices
Reviewed: 08-28-23
I’m a Social Worker so take this with a grain of salt, but I am sad at the missed opportunity to shed some light on the gap between youth services and when kids in the system age out. I was surprised that there was no mention of trying to connect the homeless youth to the towns brand new youth center. And who thinks a job busing tables is going to pay enough to live on?
I liked the female lead very much. I love a strong, independent woman. I liked the male lead as well. The narrators were great.
I wish there was more interaction between the first three couples in the series.

Story
Sex toy party hostess Liv Tanaka has a collection. Vibrating purple rabbits, cherry-flavored edible underwear, flavored oils.... Hey, wearing a leather corset and stilettos (while selling dildos) pays the bills. Just don't tell her very conservative parents. Because if they discovered Liv's sex-toy-selling "Asian Elvira" alter ego, her parents would disown her. So far, Liv's doing a bang-up job of keeping her two worlds separate... until Porter Benjamin shows up at her party.

Terrible
Reviewed: 08-15-23
Story line was flat and immature. Characters were weak. Virtually no content between the sex scenes, which were ridiculously too frequent. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good hot & steamy, sex scene. However, this seemed as if the writer was avoiding actual writing by just stringing a bunch of sex scenes, one right after another.
For the most part the narrator was pretty good. My only criticism would be that she didn’t do such a great job with the male voices.

I don’t know why I keep listening to this series. They just keep getting worse and worse. Very cookie-cutter. Highly unlikeable female lead. She is spoiled, shallow, and totally self-absorbed. At this point in the series I would have hoped that shadow cat, long horn, and strong arm would have realized there are no more clans and only one tribe.
On a positive note, the narrators are fantastic!

Story
Best buds Milo Manganiello and Alice Hooper have been the one constant in each other's lives for over 15 years. The charismatic and compassionate physics professor was there when Alice got married, and he was there 10 years later when she got divorced. Likewise, the candid and kind computer science professor has always been there for Milo. She babysits his apartment and plethora of houseplants when he's traveling, and they share breakfast together every day he's in town.

Short but not so sweet

I get that the end of a marriage takes two, but really Penny you should know better than to say Alice was the root of the problem because she didn’t understand her cheating husband’s code.
I wanted to punch the sister for her poor advice and slap Alice and Milo for their total cowardice in not talking to each other. How did they manage a 15 year friendship with such poor communication skills? And who goes from acknowledging their love for each other for the first time to get a married? Despite all that it was a decent enough rom-com for the time investment. I have listened to a few of Penny’s full length novels and there is definitely better character development in those.
I thought both narrators were very good.
