This book was a fun and heartfelt story. The Maid represents the people often overlooked in life. The complexity of events and Molly’s approach on life is masterfully written. This should be a movie…

What a wonderfully horrible parallel from the Great Depression to the COVID-19 2020. While this is fictional, the life of the farmer in the dust bowl migrating to California for a better life is brought to alive in a way that makes one pause. The value of our fellow humans, the disparity between rich and poor, men and women, parents and children, capitalism and communism, all come full circle in this book. It leaves one thinking, “ no more”; however, about a 100 years after the Great Depression, we still have a ways to go to find true freedom.

The style was more focused on relationships with a lot of dialogue and detail. The murder and forensic side was lighter than other books; but, it was a good story that was told well. I would recommend this book.

Anyone who thinks the good ole days were so much better should read this book. One of the better nonfiction meets fiction. It’s hard to imagine something like this happened from 1920 to 1950’s in America. Although, our country is ripping children and parents a part at our borders...Wow, this book will suck you n and make you think of family dynamics, socioeconomic stereotypes, what can happen when you loose your rights and survival in post industrial world as a child.

What a Circus and so Revealing
Reviewed: 09-14-19
This book was well written and performed. Some key things stick out in my mind after listening to this book. The White House is very volatile and designed to keep things running. I think the obvious is Trumps erratic behavior contributes to keeping the country on edge; however, I listened and also determined that a true change agent would never be able truly make sweeping corrections. The reason for the inability for a true change agent to make sweeping changes is due to how our government innermost workings are constructed. All the council and processes in place are designed for systematic, incremental change while referencing deep analysis, existing resolutions and cross functional hierarchical bureaucracy designed to protect our country and people at all costs. It would be very intense career move to work in the White House. I may not like all the players; but, they have my respect.
