David, you did a great job, but, you failed st the end.
Reviewed: 11-29-21
David,
This was a great work of reporting and it was well produced.
Yet, you failed to do what this society and media need most of all: A path forward.
I lived through this meltdown.
I lost my business and almost my life from the stress of my failing business.
What I need right now, as I think the rest of my generation and the others is not only a history lesson, but a 60 minute podcast showing us how to get back to glass/stegal, and how to vote and get involved finding our way back to FDR.
Otherwise, you’ve both discouraged me and my left leaning self as well as, emboldened the right authoritarian groups who make up 84 million voters. Who, out of that group, at least 54% believe the election was stolen in 2020.
Please amend this podcast and add a 10th episode; for the love of all is good and right in this country, and democracy as a whole.
John L.

Story
Rarely does a work of history contain startling implications for the present, but in The People, No, Thomas Frank pulls off that explosive effect by showing us that everything we think we know about populism is wrong. Today "populism" is seen as a frightening thing, a term pundits use to describe the racist philosophy of Donald Trump and European extremists. But this is a mistake. The real story of populism is an account of enlightenment and liberation; it is the story of American democracy itself, of its ever-widening promise of a decent life for all.

Much needed perspective especially for today
Reviewed: 09-01-20
This book, as with LISTEN LIBERAL, are a compendium of what has happened in this two party duopoly.
Mr. Frank’s historical background and approach brings into clear view, that it’s not the poor worker, but our love of the rich that makes us hate the TRUMP voter. This has to change.
Thank you for this and all your books Mr. Frank.
God Bless you.

Story
Among Americans, diabetes is more prevalent today than ever. Obesity is at epidemic proportions; nearly 10% of children are thought to have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. And sugar is at the root of these, and other, critical, society-wide, health-related problems. With his signature command of both science and straight talk, Gary Taubes delves into Americans' history with sugar: its uses as a preservative, as an additive in cigarettes, the contemporary overuse of high-fructose corn syrup.

The book was enlightening and very helpful. The narrator, Mr. Chamberlain, was so monotone that I caught myself sleeping through whole chapters. I had to rewind the book to hear what I missed.
Intonation is fundamental.

Story
Dish up the red meat, eggs, and whole milk! In this well-researched and captivating narrative, veteran food writer Nina Teicholz proves how everything we've been told about fat is wrong. For decades, Americans have cut back on red meat and dairy products full of "bad" saturated fats. We obediently complied with nutritional guidelines to eat "heart healthy" fats found in olive oil, fish, and nuts, and followed a Mediterranean diet heavy on fruits, vegetables, and grains. Yet the nation's health has declined. What is going on?

I’m not surprised at what this book shows. I am surprised that nothing has been done since this expose has been published.
My concern is where else we’ve been lied to in regard to bad science.
This is a must read.
