Story
Extras, the final book in the Uglies series, is set a couple of years after the "mind-rain", a few earth-shattering months in which the whole world woke up. The cure has spread from city to city, and the pretty regime that kept humanity in a state of bubbleheadedness has ended. Boundless human creativity, new technologies, and old dangers have been unleashed upon the world.

Not As Good As The Previous Three...
Reviewed: 06-08-18
I took a break in the middle of this book because it was hard to get into it. I did end up finishing it simply because I wanted to see how it ended. I struggled with the main character's (Aya's) obsession with fame; I found her shallow and irritating. The best part of the book was near the end when Tally, Shea and David returned. I especially liked how Tally put Aya in her place! The plot was strange and didn't intrigue me as much as the plots of the other books about Tally. In the end it was a decent read but I wouldn't recommend this one. I think the series would have ended better with "Specials" and not adding on an extra story called "Extras"!

Story
"Special Circumstances": The words have sent chills down Tally's spine since her days as a repellent, rebellious ugly. Back then Specials were a sinister rumor - frighteningly beautiful, dangerously strong, breathtakingly fast. Ordinary pretties might live their whole lives without meeting a Special. But Tally's never been ordinary. And now, in the third book in the series, Tally's been turned into a Special: a superamped fighting machine engineered to keep the uglies down and the pretties stupid.

A Fascinating End to Tally's Story
Reviewed: 03-20-18
Without spoiling the plot, this book has many twists and turns as Tally and Shea live new lives as Specials. Tally will be tested in her new role and will have to choose which side she is on. The ending was a big surprise and might disappoint some readers, but overall the book is worth reading to find out what happens to the characters we have grown to love.

In the second book of the Uglies series, Tally's Pretty. And everything's changed. The new, Pretty Tally is totally happy right where she is. She doesn't think she needs any kind of cure at all. When someone from her Ugly life shows up with a message, Tally has a hard time listening. Did she really promise to give all this up? Is she bound by a promise she made when she was a different person?

Engaging Sequel to "Uglies"

An addictive read! Westerfeld has created a fascinating sci-fi, dystopian world, and I loved to explore New Pretty Town with Tally and Zane. However, I was unhappy with how David and Tally's relationship left off at the end of the book, and I wish they had had more time to "talk things through." I've never been a fan of love triangles, and I hope that get solved in an understandable way in "Specials." The ending was a huge cliffhanger and I can't wait to read what happens next!

Story
Tally lives in a world where your 16th birthday brings aesthetic perfection: an operation that erases all your flaws, transforming you from an "Ugly" into a "Pretty". She is on the eve of this important event and cannot wait for her life to change. As well as guaranteeing supermodel looks, life as a Pretty seems to revolve around having a good time. But then she meets Shay, who is also 15 - but with a very different outlook on life.

An addicting story not only for teens

It was hard to stop listening to this book. Intriguing, addicting storyline performed well over audio. I recommend this book not only to teens but to adults as well who like a good sci-fi and dystopian novel.
