Some of the reading would irritate me

The story line was great. The plot was great. However the one thing that irritated me was the voice of Shariece and Zakia. The person, Last name Pittman and I don't remember the other person's name but... Three one who read Shariece made every body sound like the tone and annunciations used when acting as a slave. I hated it.... Or deep southern. Uggh

The voices of the readers

Why did they make the turner parents and Rell sound like voices that are normally used for slaves. It through me off. The actual story plot was great.
