Story
You want to write a nonfiction book that matters. Book readers love and rave about a book they underline, dog-ear, and highlight. How do you do that, when you’ve never written a book like that before, when you aren’t sure what content to include in a nonfiction book, or how to organize it? And when you’re not sure if your idea is worth pursuing in the first place? At the heart of the answers to all these questions is a craft created by A. J. Harper, ghostwriter and editor for some of the foremost thought leaders of our time.

Write A Must-Read is Fabulous!

It will most definitely be one of the few books that I will continue referencing for the rest of my life. I'd recommend it to anyone who writes (even if you have already published a book), including writing college papers, blogs, or articles. AJ’s emphasis on putting the reader first is a central theme for which she provides plenty of useful examples. It’s already helping me organize my content in a clearer, more streamlined fashion. Hopefully, that results in readers finding my writing more enjoyable, too. The Audible version is great because it's the author’s voice and I could listen on my walks. However, within the first 20 minutes I ordered the hard cover, too. I knew I’d want to flip back through specific sections and have it out on the table when I’m writing. Now, when I get stuck, I can hear the author’s voice asking, “does the content/story/data/antidote serve your reader?” That simple question makes it easier to get out of head, keeps my pen moving, and thoughts flowing. Thank you for sharing all of your amazing experience and knowledge, AJ!!

One of the Most Helpful Mind Shifts a Perfectionist Can Make

I’ve been following the author’s work for several years now and each book gets better and better. The Gap and the Gain is a novel concept for measuring progress and success. It’s presented in a clear and concise manner. He offers loads of examples, personal stories, and other people’s stories as a means of driving the point home. The book includes casual recorded conversations between Ben and Dan which I found to be a bonus! Ben lays out the reasons why we should live in the Gain and Dan really drives it home. It’s a wonderful collaboration between two people who invest all their time in building up others. It celebrates the life work of one exceptional leader and beautifully demonstrates what’s possible when an emerging thought leader acts courageously. Thank you for sharing this powerful tool with us!

Pia Mellody creates a framework for identifying codependent thinking, emotions and behaviour and provides an effective approach to recovery. Mellody sets forth five primary adult symptoms of this crippling condition, then traces their origin to emotional, spiritual, intellectual, physical and sexual abuses that occur in childhood. Central to Mellody's approach is the concept that the codependent adult's injured inner child needs healing.

Best Explanation & Examples of Codependence!
Reviewed: 10-19-21
This book was first recommended to me in 2009. It’s easy to read and full of the author’s experiences and her patient’s challenges. Once you can identify what traits you possess (if you do), you can go to work to healing and changing the behavior. It’s lifelong work but in order to heal, you must first admit what’s not working. I’ve recommended this book to dozens of people I’ve met over the past 12 years and I was ecstatic to see it available on Audible. Since this work isn’t something you master with a one and done, I’ve come back to read it and reference it many times over the years. So, if it resonates with you, it’s nice to have a physical copy of the book available, too. It would be fabulous to hear the author’s voice, but I am grateful for this version regardless. Highly recommend!

Put your own fate exactly where it belongs - in your hands It is one of the great questions of life. Its a simple question, really, but it seems impossible for many to answer: Do we control our own destinies? Ninety percent of people think and act as if their destiny is foreordained, while only about 10 percent believe in the capacity to change and act on it. Creating Your Own Destiny explains and demonstrates to the majority how to dream, plan, and execute a better future - despite the challenges of the economy and life circumstances.
