Surprisingly emotional

This was a stunning story - emotional beyond what I anticipated. I was a young teenager at the time of the story somewhat shielded by the current events of the time. The narration and the story line left me tearing up, laughing at often breathless as I listened. Should be required reading!

Story
From the glamorous to the entitled, from royalty to the financially ruined, everyone who wanted to be seen—or just to gawk—at the hottest restaurants in New York City came to places Michael Cecchi-Azzolina helped run. His phone number was passed around among those who wanted to curry favor, during the decades when restaurants replaced clubs and theater as, well, theater in the most visible, vibrant city in the world. Besides dropping us back into a vanished time, Your Table Is Ready takes us places we’d never be able to get into on our own.

Agatha is pregnant and works part time stocking shelves at a grocery store in a ritzy London suburb, counting down the days until her baby is due. Loved the continuation of the story line...
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Dangerous Place?
The beginning of the book just blew me away...I have been following Maisy Dobbs from book 1 and was not expecting this story line.
What does Orlagh Cassidy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Her voice depicts the characters as I imagine them in my head.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Yes, I listen in the car and sometimes hoped for traffic during my commute.
Any additional comments?
When will book 12 be available Ms. WInspear???

Story
Thousands of people have had near-death experiences, but scientists have argued that they are impossible. Dr. Eben Alexander was one of those scientists. Neurosurgeon Alexander knew that NDEs feel real, but are simply fantasies produced by brains under extreme stress. Then, Dr. Alexander’s own brain was attacked by a rare illness. The part of the brain that controls thought and emotion shut down completely. For seven days he lay in a coma. Then Alexander’s eyes popped open. He had come back. Alexander’s recovery is a medical miracle. But the real miracle of his story lies elsewhere.
