Publisher's summary

Bonus Audio Content: Includes chapter one of Michael Robotham’s 2019 thriller GOOD GIRL, BAD GIRL!

In the best-selling tradition of The Girl on the Train and In a Dark, Dark Wood, from the internationally best-selling author whom Stephen King called "an absolute master" of the psychological thriller, comes a riveting suspense novel about the unlikely friendship between two pregnant women that asks: How far would you go to create the perfect family?

Agatha is pregnant and works part time stocking shelves at a grocery store in a ritzy London suburb, counting down the days until her baby is due. As the hours of her shifts creep by in increasing discomfort, the one thing she looks forward to at work is catching a glimpse of Meghan, the effortlessly chic customer whose elegant lifestyle dazzles her. Meghan has it all: two perfect children, a handsome husband, a happy marriage, and a stylish group of friends, and she writes perfectly droll confessional posts on her popular parenting blog - posts that Agatha reads with devotion each night as she waits for her absent boyfriend, the father of her baby, to maybe return her calls.

When Agatha learns that Meghan is pregnant again and that their due dates fall within the same month, she finally musters up the courage to speak to her, thrilled that they now have the ordeal of childbearing in common. Little does Meghan know that the mundane exchange she has with a grocery store employee during a hurried afternoon shopping trip is about to change the course of her not-so-perfect life forever....

With its brilliant rendering of a shocking kidnapping plot and the secrets some women hold close, The Secrets She Keeps delivers a dark and twisted thriller.

Most intense book I've read since Intensity by Koontz

Wow! Talk about suspenseful! This book was very well written. Not one time was I bored. I never found myself thinking about something else. It had my full attention 100% of the time. I was able to care for the Agathia as well as Meg. I love when the bad guy is appealing. I found myself wishing Meg would get her baby back and hoping Agathia would get away with what she did. My emotions were all over the place, in a good way.

Disappointing - more melodrama then thriller

The story takes a while to get going, but even when it does, it's just not that interesting. The characters are not terribly believable, the story a bit far fetched - ultimately it's more like a Lifetime TV for women story than a thriller. Definitely disappointed. The performance is exceptionally good though.

interesting, the story kept me wanting more.

The ending could have been more suspenseful. The book was entertaining, towards the end it was predictable.

Thumbs up!

I liked this book a lot but I was disappointed by some sloppy, careless research issues. Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses, I can assure readers that the author's dealing with that organization was extremely inaccurate. It would have been very easy to have gotten it right. It wasn't anything that was critical to the story line, but there were multiple references to a character's supposed religious background that were so ridiculous. Other than that, I loved the book.

A New Yorkers book

almost bailed a couple chapters in but it got better.
The author seems to have a little bit of an agenda that I didn't care for but the story kept me interested.
New Yorkers love their city.

Great Book!

Chose this book just because it was a best seller, but was happily captured by the twists and turns the story took. Captivated, I couldn't wait for a moment alone to listen to the next chapter! Now I'm sharing it with others!

Loved this book!

Riviting story and easy to listen to with the British accents. Couldn't stop listening and wanted it to keep going.
