Story
An online video of a girl clawing at the ceiling of her own grave could be the worst thing FBI forensic psychologist Zoe Bentley has ever seen. Perhaps even more disturbing is the implication of the video’s title: “Experiment Number One.” Zoe and her partner, Special Agent Tatum Gray, work as fast as they can to find the monster behind the shocking video, but soon another one shows up online, and another girl turns up dead.

I could not stop reading this book. It was awesome. The way the author described the scenes was so realistic. You could imagine being there. I highly suggest this author.

What happened with the narration on this one? The reader stopped. And started. In mid sentence. So annoying. At times I thought there was something wrong with my iPhone.

Would you try another book from Georgette Heyer and/or Clifford Norgate?
This was the first book I have listened to by this author and narrator. I found the narrator very difficult to listen to and the book dragged on. I will not try another book from this author or narrator.
What do you think your next listen will be?
I have a few items on my list that I am torn about. It will either be Orphan Train or Fortune Cookie.
What didn’t you like about Clifford Norgate’s performance?
I found his pronunciations to be very difficult to understand. He seemed monotone at times and just plain dull.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I had to quit after 4 hours, so there wasn't much in terms of redeeming qualities in my opinion. There was one character who was endearing; however, I cannot even remember his name. That's how unmemorable the story was.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
Yes, the ending.
Would you ever listen to anything by Rachel Gibson again?
Probably not. It was not funny enough (which I like) and it veered more towards soft porn, which I did not expect.
What three words best describe Susan Bennett’s performance?
Flat, unemotional, semi-versitle with voices
What would have made this romance irresistible?
More humor.

Would you listen to Change of Heart again? Why?
I probably would not listen to it again, because I never listen to books twice. However, I would most definitely recommend it.
What other book might you compare Change of Heart to and why?
It is very reminiscent of the Green Mile. Still, that did not detract me from the story.
Which scene was your favorite?
It was not so much a particular scene that was my favorite, but my own realization of who Shay Bourne really is.
If you could rename Change of Heart, what would you call it?

Intriguing premise, but definitely a teen book
Reviewed: 10-02-12
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
Probably not. My friends are a bit older and this type of genre would most likely not be in their "have to read" lists.
What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The most interesting aspect was that knowing what Cashia actually does as a "sorter." You don't find out its relevance until closer to the end of the book. The least interesting was her interactions with Kai. For some reason, he just bored me.
Have you listened to any of Kate Simses’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. I can't compare.
Do you think Matched needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
I believe there is a follow-up book, as you are left wondering what happened to her love interest Kai. I can't say more in fear of spoiling the plot.
Any additional comments?
These books all based on utopian societies really hammer on the lemming effect. The fear of death and negative consequences of our actions overrides all other sensibilities. It's pretty amazing what you will endure in the name of self-preservation.

Absolutely
Have you listened to any of John Lee’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No. Although I did not enjoy the book, the narrator was very good. I would have stopped reading if it weren't for John Lee.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Disappointment. I was hoping for a bit more. My mind drifted often. This type of content just doesn't thrill me. The interpersonal relationships were interesting however.

Neelie Sterling never did listen well to the conversation around her. Always preoccupied with an inner monologue, she sometimes missed things. She was happy when Matt, her veterinarian husband, told her he was getting a collie; she liked dogs. But he had said colleague, to help with his busy practice. The problems start when the pretty blond "collie" calls Neelie to say that she is pregnant with Matt's child.

There are times when I can sympathize with the main character in this book over her misunderstanding of certain words. I hear so many thinks incorrectly; however, I have always blamed in on my hearing. Anyway this was a good book. It is a bit of a love story, but not much. Mostly its about a divorcee picking up the pieces of her life and finding out what she is really about. The most annoying part of the book was the fact that she did keep misunderstanding words and phrases and I would sometimes have a very difficult time trying to figure out what the actual wording should have been. Although most of the time the reader let you know what was actually said, I struggled to reconcile the word or phrase with what she thought she heard. After a while, I just wished she omit those misunderstandings.
Overall, it was enjoyable.
