Longer than it should have been. Story was good. At first I wasn't impressed with the narrator, but, after a bit she got into her groove.

Harper Harlow and Jared Monroe race to the scene to make sure nobody is trapped or in danger...and discover one heck of a secret. It seems, the house, which was owned by a solitary older woman who kept to herself, was being run as a brothel. Now, she’s dead, and there’s a bevy of married men on the hot seat for her murder.

Story
Harper Harlow thought the only thing she was going to have to worry about in the shadow of spring was planning her wedding. She was wrong. A string of break-ins in Whisper Cove have caught the attention of the cops, including her fiancé Jared Monroe. Things take a turn for the worse when one of those break-ins results in the death of a local barber. It seems what was once written off as teenage hijinks is something else entirely. In addition to the break-ins, Harper finds herself distracted by a new resident. He’s bringing an art gallery to town...as well as his troubled sister.

Story
Ten years ago, Harper Harlow lost a classmate. Jennifer Jessup was sweet, nice, and seemingly aimless in life. She came from a good family, lived on an island, and was spoiled with every material gift that could possibly be bestowed upon her. She was still unhappy. Now, a decade later, her father Byron Jessup has approached Harper with a business opportunity. He wants her - and the rest of her operation, of course - to spend a long weekend on his island. Other psychics and ghost hunters will be there, as will his family. The goal? To find out what happened to Jennifer.

I love the story, however, the narrator needs to stop speaking as if she was a robot. It was hard to complete the book. Narrator, just speak normally. Do not pause. Also a few characters impressions sounded the same.

As the books are written, the story is paused by a whole chapter dedicated to sex. Please, you're an extremely talented author...don't allow your talent be wasted on sexual programming. Your audience is restricted. I do not allow my daughter to read your books now and neither are her friends permitted to read the recent books.

First and foremost the narrator is fantastic. Because of Ms. Gilbert I've found many great books. This book was good. I enjoyed the storyline very much. The only negative thing is there was way more sex. There actually was one whole chapter with just high ranking in depth sex. I followed these book series for the story. Sex most likely comes with a story but, wow, it is a lot when you take an entire chapter and dedicate it to just sex.
