Story is poorly written - many cringeworthy metaphors and descriptors (eg je looked into her brave eyes.,,)
Reader tries to do voices and accents but none of them work - especially her voice for Andrew was very distracting

This book was original to audiobooks - interviews are the actual people talking. I learned so much about the Air Force strategy used in WWII and beyond. I typically like my history in historical novels but Gladwell makes this nonfiction account absolutely compelling and interesting

A series with legs! The characters are more developed and more loveable with a couple of new friends to keep things spicy.

The voice of this author is unique and the extra insight into London history is a bonus on a great story

Really enjoyed the story, the multi-dimensional characters, and the performance. Really felt immersed in war time England

Loved the characters and the murders mystery along with the magic - but what really made this book was the London history

Very well research historical fiction account of the refugee crisis in 1945 Eastern Germany as millions of civilians fled the advancing Russian army. While this story focuses on the sinking of the Wilhelm Gustav, the authors note at the end includes the long list of refugee ships that were sunk in the Baltic Sea in this year. My fathers family was on one of these ships that made it past the gauntlet of Uboats, so I have heard the stories of the flight of refugees out of what’s now Poland all my life (my family left from the port at Danzig and like some of the characters in the story, stayed in a refugee camp outside Hamburg and then immigrated to the US). Important story of how war destroys the lives of us he people caught in its path - as powerful as The Book Thief.

Thoroughly enjoyed this story - the world was well described without being too narrative focused - letting the characters introduce themselves and the world through dialogue and actions. I like the show over tell approach

Great retelling of David Copperfield set in Appalachia in the midst of the opioid epidemic. Great writing and an important insight into the devastation caused by Purdue Pharma and others
