Story
Taking as its point of departure the broad question of the relationship between UFOs and state sovereignty, this book examines every aspect of the close encounter phenomenon through all of human history. Humanity cannot survive the disclosure of what is detailed in this book. Rather, this profound philosophical analysis of close encounters demonstrates that the true nature of the phenomenon has to do with the cosmic force of evolution challenging us to overcome the limits of what has defined humanity for at least 250 million years - since our civilization on Mars was destroyed.

Final Piece of the Puzzle

For me this was the final piece of the puzzle. It overlays established fact and offers deeper bolder questions, finally transcending the psyop narrative, leaving only that which makes the most logical sense.

In a small apartment, Black and White, as the two men are known, begin a conversation that leads each back through his own history, mining the origins of two fundamentally opposing world views. White is a professor whose seemingly enviable existence of relative ease has left him nonetheless in despair. Black, an ex-con and ex-addict, is the more hopeful of the menthough he is just as desperate to convince White of the power of faith as White is desperate to deny it.

A Masterpiece. Like a bullet.

This is such a powerful piece of writing made even more impactful with outstanding performances of the narrators. Not unusual for McCarthy of course, but unusual for me to actually write a review. Sunset Limited is perhaps the best less-than two hours I’ve spent with art in a very long time. I’m having a hard time finding the words with which to praise this writing and performance so I will simply say, listen to it immediately, completely and without distraction. Then share it with someone else. So much better than a movie.

Story
Now at last Keith Richards pauses to tell his story in the most anticipated autobiography in decades. And what a story! Listening obsessively to Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters records in a coldwater flat with Mick Jagger and Brian Jones, building a sound and a band out of music they loved. Finding fame and success as a bad-boy band, only to find themselves challenged by authorities everywhere....

So, so good!

A superb reading from the late Frank Muller of the great Stephen King. Such a great story. Rare as it is that a film adaptation and the original written story both compliment one another. If you love the older King work, and you’ve enjoyed the film, please listen to the full body of the story here, you won’t be disappointed. Personally I enjoyed the little differences in character displayed in the film version of the story the most. There really isn’t anything in this reading of The Green Mile that I disliked. Another great story that should be read or heard in this case.

An immense story of love and betrayal in the worlds we live in. The things portrayed in this story actually do happen to people. Choose to bury your head in the sand if you don’t want to think about human potential. This story is fictional. The REAL stories we know and don’t know about are worse.

Story
It looked like another ordinary day in Los Angeles. Then night came...Evil as old as the centuries has descended upon the City of Angels - it comes as a kiss from the terrifying but seductive immortals. Slowly at first, then by the legions, the ravenous undead choke Los Angeles with bloodthirsty determination - and the hordes of monstrous victims steadily mount each night.

I didn’t think I’d like this book as I’m not a huge vampire genre fan, but having read a few of his other works from around that same time I thought I’d try it out.
As usual, McCammon’s narrative is vibrant and seething with character and detail I crave.
Such a great story! The best aspects come from, in my opinion, the outstanding performance of the narrator and myriad of deeply fleshed out characters all of whom capture a culture and voice that resounds.
Great pacing, development and conclusion.

I'm no literary critic, but I have to say why I gave this book a mere 3 star rating. While I enjoy the vintage feel of the book, and the characters were very full and developed, mostly. All of the protagonists are very well fleshed out and woven together nicely.
I didn't care for the voices chosen to represent most of the characters, which lends to a detaching critical disposition, albeit short lived.
The real problem I had with this book was the story itself lacked the full fleshing out in regards to WHY the events therein are taking
place. A lot of unexplained lore behind the antagonism, the book merely mentions an explanation mid-way as to the true nature of the events defining the story.
I kept waiting for a super rad point to emerge, but they just killed monsters.
I'd recommend this book to a very select, banal, complacent audience happy with surface and texture at the expense of depth.
That is all.
