Very good both me and my son liked this story a lot we have listened to it several times Jack Black reads very well. The sound effects of the Minecraft characters are also very good. The story can be a bit overdramatic at times but that small potatoes good book button

Story
In his mid-20s, Jimmy was bored, boring, unfulfilled and underachieving. He wasn't exactly depressed, but he was very sad. Think of a baby owl whose mum has recently died in a windmill accident. He was that sad. This audiobook tells the story of how Jimmy turned it around and got happy, through the redemptive power of dick jokes.

I had no idea who this chap was, I see him on YouTube clips hosting shows with funny people. So I thought he might be funny/interesting too.
It’s like a real life Adrian Mole diary without the jokes. There are verses that hold the rhythm of jokes, but they are simply not funny.
Not funny.
But I wasn’t sure if he was trying to be funny. Sounded like he was trying to write something as a legacy to pass on to his son. That is nice, but why not just do that rather than try to make it a product that can be sold to anyone?
I am stopping my review there. No need to whip a dead horse.

Here’s hoping he makes a few more of these, just a few, maybe two more. That’d be rare!

Story
Pete Townshend is one of the great figures in rock ‘n’ roll history. For almost 60 years, The Who have balanced the physical and the spiritual with introspective lyrics and inspirational music. But there is a part of Townshend’s story—and The Who’s—that has not been examined. These are his Words + Music. In the Audible Original Pete Townshend: Somebody Saved Me, the songwriter takes us through the period between the 1978 death of Who drummer Keith Moon and the 2002 loss of bassist John Entwistle.

I love Pete’s voice and would love to hear him do more for audible. His me reads his own biography which is definitely worth listening too if you haven’t heard it already.
Often it sounds like Pete is sitting on the psychologists sofa and reflecting on his life, his anecdotes and interpretations are unfiltered and candid.
Most memorable thing he says is about how he is almost 80 years old and still playing the guitar, still touring and playing music for the joy of it all and what’s not to love about that.
Get your headphones on and have a listen.

This is like listening to a car salesman. I listened until chapter 4 and the narrator was still yelling at me about how he was going to make the world better.
Complete bu11$hit. It would be a shame if there was any eventual nuggets of theory to help improve flooded as it is by total awful hyperbole and self praise.

Now at last Keith Richards pauses to tell his story in the most anticipated autobiography in decades. And what a story! Finding fame and success as a bad-boy band, only to find themselves challenged by authorities everywhere....

Who the f*** is that reading?
Reviewed: 01-05-22
I was fine with the American lad reading, he did a good job. But the second guy?
I had to check to see if Joe Hurley was a special needs guy or had problems but it appears not.
I did not think it possible to find a worse narrator selection for Morrissey’s biography (Neil Morrissey !?!??) but as soon as this guy Hurley was two sentences in I turned that thing off, I could give a fig about how interesting your story is.
Why would they get a guy who sounds like Mick Jagger on a Henry come down to read Keith’s story?
Who makes these decisions? Maybe it was a person from Micks camp to stop readers getting to the todger part of the story.
Safe as houses mate. Give me back my money and I’ll go listen to George Harrison instead.

The Beatles story is amazing, so it takes an absolute nutcracker to screw it up.
This book finds a way,
Constant references to Paul is the prettiest the other three were rubbish…
Also any time George is mentioned it is with aggressive horrible slants and backhanded comments.
It doesn’t ruin the story entirely- but drops it to a C pass.
