1. Heroine is 25yr but Narrator sounds like a teenager.
2. Writing/dialogue is amateurish.
3. The story concept had potential but was ruined by weak vocabulary that failed in description, conversations, and the power to engage the listeners.
I wish I could get my money back but audible only refunds premium subscribers. I recently down graded

Could not finish
Reviewed: 12-01-20
Ridiculous and predictable. I don’t write a lot of reviews but this story was such a waste of time that I had to comment. Both narrators sound like children learning to reading. Their emotions were either absent or overly exaggerated. The storyline is a great concept but the progression of the plot, main characters, and dialogue is extremely amateur. I fast forwarded through the majority and eventually quit.

Story
Caring for a loved one with cancer is tough. Doing it alone is overwhelming - especially when that loved one is a child. But ever since Ken Brighton's partner left him, Ken has spent his days at the hospital with his daughter, Hanna, hoping for a miracle. Maybe the mysterious care packages that appear for Hanna don't qualify, but they bring a spark of hope into his and Hanna's tired life-and so does Ken's neighbor, former singer Patrick Flaherty.

Bounty hunter Nox Fuller has been challenged to do the impossible. He’s supposed to bring the Red Dragon in for a year long stint in shifter prison, but this job could be the death of him. His focus should be on the hunt, but when he meets a shy shifter named Nevada, he can’t help but be distracted by the curvy beauty. He doesn’t care that she has trouble speaking to people. He’s different, too. But as he finds out exactly what kind of shifter he’s falling for, he realizes he’s in way over his head.

It’s only distinguishable that the narrator is speaking as a male or a female. Every character sound the same. Including the books descriptive areas.

Tedious
Reviewed: 02-01-20
I finished this book but it was difficult. I think the narrator lacked the correct intonation in addition to sounding too mature for the main characters POV. I enjoyed supporting character personality as it carried the story. I will avoid this narrator but will research other books by the author before passing too harsh a judgment.

Painful
Reviewed: 11-22-19
The story was a great idea but the heroine character was too juvenile and naive. The main problem was she never learned from her mistakes. Her response to threats, blackmail, physical assault was unrealistic.
The April voice was annoyingly to sweet and innocent. With her voice sounding so young her comments and descriptions of intimate scenes seemed inappropriate.
I was on chapter 12, skipped to 28, then tried epilogue but couldn’t endure it any longer.

Worst of all, he’s thrown for a loop when he arrives to see the one man Charlotte promised wouldn’t be there: her brother, Rand Holloway.

Narrator needs some help with direction
Reviewed: 08-26-19
I can't truthfully review the story. I made it only to the third chapter before I couldn't take anymore of the bored and confusing voices used by the narrator. I think the story maybe better if self read since alot of the dialogue is conversation. I just cringed each time I attempted to listen, it sounded rushed and was void of emotion. Sorry.
