About this listen

Kisa Volkova is the only daughter of Kirill "the Silencer" Volkov, head of the infamous Red bosses of New York's Russian Bratva. Her life is protected, but it's also a virtual prison. Her father's savage treatment of his rivals and his lucrative and coveted underground gambling ring - the Dungeon - ensure that too many enemies lurk at their door. She dreams to be set free.

While working for her church - the only reprieve in her constant surveillance - Kisa stumbles across a tattooed, scarred, but stunningly beautiful homeless man on the streets. Something about him stirs feelings deep within her - familiar yet impossibly forbidden desires. He's a man beyond saving, but Kisa becomes obsessed with him. Yearns for him. Craves his touch. Needs to possess this mysterious man, this man they call Raze.

I surprisingly enjoyed this! Triggering situations

The heroine irritated me at times, but then I had to remember she was a victim of abuse from age 13. The lifestyle became her new normal and this allowed me to remain empathetic to her. I wish she knew how deeply her father loved her, so that she didnt have to experience that. However she was a beautiful soulmate for Raze. Raze's story is sad, will make you very angry. I'm glad he got retribution for himself and his friend 365 . Karmic forces did their work with Alec and his papa. Such cruelty and evil. Not the the faint of heart

wow!! such an amazing story!!

I loved this story! I couldn't quite tell what it was about from the summery but I knew I liked Russian mob stories so I gave it a shot and wow! it was awesome and intense! If I give a background of the characters it will give away too much, even though you can pretty much figure out who Raze really is from the start, but it's such an original story concept I loved it! my heart broke for Raze and what he went through, but also the female lead (cant spell her name) at first I really didnt like her I thought she was plain stupid for not admitting the monster that alec was, but she grew on me and I began to understand that no one really saw it. by the end I loved her, Raze is a huge powerful killer but also a completely broken man with the mind of a teenager still, she really took care of him and protected him and gave him all the strength she had. The only thing I wish they had addressed more was her trauma and what she went through, but I heard that they are strong characters in the next book so maybe we will see more if them healing together!
also the Male narrator sounds so dramatic at the beginning but then he settles down and it's all dandy. only weird thing is these are all Russians but only some of them have accents? kinda weird and disappointing but again not a big thing!

This is one I will be listening to again ❤️

What an emotional story! I can’t remember when a story has made me cry so much. I rarely listen to books twice but I see myself going back to this one again in the future. Excellent narration.

A Sexy Soul Wrenching Series

What a crazy sexy new series! The intensity - the suspense - the passion - the heat... it's almost too much. Readers feel exactly what these tormented characters are experiencing and can do nothing less than pray for the best possible outcome. This is dark romance at its best, with violence that builds on the story, sex that creates connection and monsters that you fall in love with. Seriously, it is panty melting with the narration in the Russian accented voices. This is definitely one of those books where the narration enhances the story. Hot. Hot. Hot.

one of my favorite audio's ever

The audio experience is way different than the reading experience. Your brain and imagination do different things when you read and listen. I have to say that by far this is one of my favorite audio listens. Not only was the story, completely original, but the narration was so spot on, all I kept thinking was big screen.

Laying in bed, I was thinking about the story. How talented an author Tillie cole is to take people who are in a horrible lifestyle, but born into it and make you love them in spite of their circumstance.

The narration for this was so good, particularly Guy Locke. It's not often that a male narrator blows me away, but this guy did a great job.

I read one other Tillie Cole book and I liked it, but wasn't blown away. This book blew other books out of the water.

Great!

This book was not for me!

Is there anything you would change about this book?

I would change everything about thing about this book. The story had instances of abuse against the male and female lead characters. The story had contradictions. The female heroine's daddy was bigger than everyone else's "Daddy", yet she was repeatedly abused, and did not tell her big bad daddy. I did not get that. Some of the sexual scenes were unwelcomed because it came after I read one of the abuse scenes.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I did not finish the book so I don't know if I missed an interesting part. I fought with the characters throughout the pages that I read; even the flashback scenes.

Did Amelie Griffin and Guy Locke do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

Yes
