Story
In the heart of the South Pacific lies Point Nemo, the most desolate and remote place on Earth. At its core is a dead zone, devoid of life, where government agencies crash their obsolete satellites and space stations, confident they won't harm a soul. When the International Space Station suffers a catastrophic failure and plummets through the atmosphere, it's here that Mission Specialist Julie Rohr, an astrobiologist studying living space dust called xylem, finds herself marooned. Julie's only hope for rescue lies in the hands of her estranged father, Dr. Finn Maddern, a renowned mycologist.

great story
Reviewed: 10-18-24
The premise is believable and the storyline moved at a good pace... enough detail to engage readers but not so much that it bogged down. Hoping for a sequel. This would make a great movie

Story
The career of the USS Wahoo in sinking Japanese ships in the farthest reaches of the Empire is legendary in submarine circles. Christened three months after Pearl Harbor, Wahoo was commanded by the astonishing Dudley W. "Mush" Morton, whose originality and daring new techniques led to results unprecedented in naval history; among them, successful "down the throat" barrage against an attacking Japanese destroyer, voracious surface-running gun attacks, and the sinking of a four-ship convoy in one day.

Good story/ boring narrator

The narrator kind of ruined it for me... very soft spoken and would annoyingly trail off with the last word in sentences. The story was great but his voice put me to sleep.

Definitely recommend

I was genuinely sad when I reached the end of this series. The character development, story telling, and attention to technical detail without being cumbersome made this one of my all time favorites.
The narrator was perfect and gave just the right amount of life to each character. I think the author/narrator combination here was better than any other book I've listened to. I'll be listening to this again.
update: I've re-listened 3x so far and like it a little more each time
