Gerri does it again!
Reviewed: 01-21-25
I’d taken a break from Gerri’s books because I’d discovered a few new authors. Late in 2024 I realized that there were a bunch of her books available.
I love her series and stand alone books!
Now for this book! Fantastic. Abby always does a great job, so no surprise there. Gerri does a great job at combining a romance and a crazy intriguing storyline!
I love that she does mystery and suspense. There are always twist and turns that keep me focused! Moving on to book 2!
I highly recommend this series and all of her other books. I’m picky so that is saying a lot coming from me!

You know how some authors become redundant and transparent? Well Haley Cass DEFINITELY isn’t one of those authors. Somehow she and Lori Prince (narrator extraordinaire) bring these characters to life. The story was captivating and the characters had depth (although Riley made me mad a few times). This book is well written and a joy. It’s worth the wait! I’ll stop here so I don’t add any spoilers!

I love this series, I lowered my hopes as not to be too disappointed if it weren’t as good as the first two. I couldn’t stop listening, the new characters, the narration (of course) and the storyline had me hooked. I wasn’t sure how the story would work with the added romance, but CHEERS it works!!

Story
Caroline Parker knows three things to be true. First, she is going to be Boston's most sought-after divorce attorney by 35. Second, given how terrible her romantic track record is, falling in love isn't in the cards for her. And third, Christmas only brings her bad luck - being broken up with not once, not twice, but three times during the holidays is proof enough of that. When she runs into Hannah Dalton on Christmas Eve, she has no reason to believe her luck will change. After all, though Hannah is probably the most gorgeous woman she's ever seen, she's also straight.

I was a bit nervous for this sophomore effort, but was ridiculous happy and rewarded! Haley Vas’s has a way of getting you totally invested in her characters. The ONLY issue I had was that I needed to get into the head of Hanna, I honestly believe that a big chance was missed.
Overall, Lori did an amazing job!

Fun book, but I think EVERYONE in this book has really bad ADD!
Reviewed: 11-10-20
I have to be fair, every time I wanted to stop the madness....I just couldn’t stop listening. Jayda was my favorite character and I just wanted her to finish that damned book! I wanted her to find love and a true partner. She kept me laughing every time she interacted with Navaeh! 😂
Midori is a hot mess and there is no way this chick was a pediatrician! She is not a very likable character. She can’t make up her mind on ANYTHING! She is completely selfish, a pathological lair, a user, a hypocrite and is not in anyway likable.
I would say that this is not a true lesbian romance. I would put it in the Bi erotic category. I hate labels, but if your looking for a lesbian romance you’ll be a bit disappointed. The sex between the woman was extremely hot.
Overall I would say the story went all over the place. There were times when I just say “wait...WTF is happening and WHY”. A couple of the characters say “there is too much going on right now” THIS is how I felt about the overall story. Anna J threw in too many situations that just didn’t need to be apart of this story. They did nothing to develop the story or characters. This happened right up to the end. Anna, I sorry but that last scene made absolutely NO sense.
I am kinda hooked on Anna J and, against my better judgement, I want to know what happens with Jayda.

What can I say but the woman is talented! Smart, DAMNED FUNNY, sexy and unique! My rule about books under 8 hours has been tested! I waited months to get this book because I generally do not prefer audio books under 8 hours. I’m usually left feeling had. But this author is one of only a very select few that never fails to deliver a quality experience. At first I felt that the voices were that of the main characters from the Jericho series. But was the story progressed, I felt the distinction between them.
PLEASE give us more of C.K.!!!!!! I REALLY want to be her and Grace’s BFF!

Okay so I really love her books and thought this would be another good book. I was pleasantly surprised that she was the narrator. I have to say that this book touched me. I laughed, got INCREDIBLY turned on and cried. But, most importantly, I connected with all of the characters. She had me from the first line she spoke. I simply loved the story and the performance! Great job!!!

Overall I was happy with the book, but I was a bit dismayed with the narrator. In the beginning it was hard to follow the changes in characters and places. I felt that she struggled to find a voice for each character. I thought that Dara was MUCH older than 31. I also had trouble, throughout the book, envisioning Dara. The voice was a major contrast with the author’s description of Dara. I wish that there was a bit more meat to the overall story.

Story
Dr. Hope Finlay loves her job as an emergency room physician, especially since it allows her only brief encounters with her patients. She learned early in life not to get attached to anyone because it never lasts. Laleh Samadi, a waitress at her aunt’s restaurant, is the exact opposite. She easily connects with people and loves her big, boisterous Persian family, despite their tendency to meddle in her life. When Laleh needs to be rushed to the ER with heart trouble, Hope saves her life. Afterwards, strange things begin to occur.

Jae did not disappoint! At first I wasn’t sure about this book. But the story had me after the first 5 mins! Again, the narrator absolutely is not my favorite. I’ve bought several of Jae’s books and was willing to move forward. She was a bit better than last time but her inflections are just plain off. Sometimes I couldn’t tell who was speaking. If it weren’t for Jae’s amazing writing, this story would have been a wash for me. Thanks Jae for writing another good one!!!
