I guess it is fan fiction

I was going to give it blazing reviews about lack of originality, 2 star worthy, but isn't that what fanfic is, a bunch of shout outs to troupes, genres, famous plots and characters. It had a few solid funny moments. Do you like fart jokes, then this is the book for you

Story
After three failed seasons and a disastrous jilting, Lady Dorothea Beaumont has had more than enough of her family's scheming. She won't domesticate a duke, entangle an earl, or vie for a viscount. She will quietly exit to her aunt's Irish estate for a life of blissful freedom. Until an arrogant, sinfully handsome duke singles her out for a waltz, making Thea the most popular belle of the season. The duke ruined her plans, and he'll just have to fix them.

predictable even the sex scene

I spent a lot of time during this book saying oh that's going to happen next and then it happened. if you're looking for a cliche romance novel with one solid theme for the evening love triangle then this is the book for you!

Bland at times with plot holes, first book ties up ending nicely. Not preteen friendly

decent, sometimes simple minded

The book has a fun sorry line but at time can be written too simply. I enjoyed the characters, they had a few complexities but often took a while to get point. if you have read all the major recent fantasy works, this will tide you over for a while.
