I’m a multi racial woman who didn’t grow up in an African American home. Even though God blessed me to be influenced by other African American families I didn’t realize that the systemic racism ideology was normalized in my home environment. This book has helped me to understand how normalized I was lead to accept the abusive behavior. This book has led me to address within my family and community that there’s a racial issue within multicultural families that need to be addressed. My family doesn’t truly understand where I stand but I’m starting the conversation. My next generation is becoming more integrated and I don’t want this generation to be conditioned to reject themselves at home and the work place. My awareness was just in time to prevent me from killing my self due to my work related abuse. In the summer of 2022 I was hospitalized after the severe systemic racism that I couldn’t stand up against for the industry change, however I was able to acknowledge what was going on. I had to quit my job and reject my family option to accept the abuse for my mental health and freedom. This book exposes more than just workplace abusive behavior. It also provides the foundation to thrive for the future.
