Story
The debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people's lives. Every day the same. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning and night. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.

Story
It's April, 1988, a month before Kinsey Millhone's 38th birthday, and she's alone in her office doing paperwork when a young man arrives unannounced. He has a preppy air about him and looks as if he'd be carded if he tried to buy booze, but Michael Sutton is 27, an unemployed college dropout. Twenty-one years earlier, a four-year-old girl disappeared, and a recent reference to her kidnapping has triggered a flood of memories.

Disappointing

First off I must say that I am new to this and did not know the difference between Unabridged and Abridged when I downloaded the Unabridged version of this book.
I found it had way too much irrelevant information that was just not necessary to the story and it was predictive in some parts as to what was going to happen. It jumped back and forth between the past and the present and I found that confusing with all the different characters in play and had I actually been reading this book I would not have finished it. I ended up playing it as background noise while I was doing other work just so I could finish it. I bought it for my father who has recently had eye surgery and cannot read books and he lost interest within the first few chapters.
I did enjoy the narration by Judy Kaye. I thought she sounded the part.
