Story
Reluctantly, Chef Isaac finds himself working in the kitchen of his nemesis, Chef Piper Peyton. Why would he want to cook his way into her heart? To save a landmark family restaurant in Savannah, two chefs must put aside their twenty-year-old feud and cook together. Can they at least try to be kind toward each other without digging up old hurts? I can’t wait for you to read Piper’s story. Fans of my Savannah Sweethearts and Coastal Sweethearts Christian coastal romance series might recall that Piper is profoundly deaf. Here comes Chef Isaac, who does not speak American Sign Language at ...

Check with Deaf Community
Reviewed: 01-11-25
Not a bad story, but author should have checked certain facts with the Deaf community. Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Never hearing impaired. That is actually really offensive to many members of the Deaf community.
Also, maybe do a little research on where Sign Names come from and who can give them. This is more of a minor point, but I still think Isaac giving a new sign name is not appropriate.
The story was fine. I appreciate the Christian perspective.

Story
It's the hot, miserable summer of 1787 in Philadelphia. Will the delegates at the Grand Convention succeed or fail at their mission? Will they amend the Articles of Confederation as instructed? Or are they up to something else? Our tale is brought to us by Henry, a young man from Britain who has been tasked with keeping an eye on what the delegates are up to. He is certain they cannot accomplish what they came to Philadelphia to do!

Excellent story, well read

I am always looking for great historical fiction. This story is accurate and fun, educational and entertaining. The author clearly researched the subject a great deal.
The narrator is incredible, as well. He gave every character their own voice and the voices were all believable.
I look forward to more stories from the pen of Catherine Jaime.

Story
Updated for the 2016 election. Every four years citizens of the United States cast their vote in the election process of their Chief Executive - the President of the United States. But many students and adults alike do not understand the process by which we elect our president. Are we really casting a vote directly for one of them or for an elector, and what is the difference? And going backwards from November, how did those men and/or women end up on the November ballot in the first place?

Tough subject made easy!

The author makes a sometimes confusung subject so clear. Her information was easy to follow and very helpful. I also appreciated that the author offered other resources for more information.

Story
Nate Overbay, a former soldier suffering from PTSD and ALS, goes to an 11th-floor bank and climbs out the bathroom window onto the ledge, ready to end it all. But as he’s steeling himself to jump, a crew of gunmen bursts into the bank and begins viciously shooting employees and customers. With nothing to lose, Nate climbs back inside, confronts the robbers, and with his military training, starts taking them out, one by one. The last man standing leaves Nate with a cryptic warning: “He will make you pay in ways you can’t imagine.” Soon enough, Nate learns what this means.

A Great Read! Riveting, Suspenseful, and Personal

I hated to stop listening to this book and I couldn't wait to begin again. This story has "it all!" Unexpected plots twists, great family interactions, realistic emotions, and lots of action. I have already recommended it to several other people.
